TCU just got hosed on a terrible flagrant houl call. They were up 2 with a minute to go and got a rebound and TCU guy came down and bow accidentally came down on Dickinson. Instead of having the ball up two, KU gets two free throws and the ball. They scored the 4 points to take the lead.

Not just had the ball up 2, but had a 5 on 4 fast break...

Bull crap flagrant called on TCU. This game was literally spoon fed to Kansas, by the officials.

Under 1 minute to go. TVU was up 2 with the ball.

Bad flagrant call, KU gets two free throws and the ball, suddenly up 2.

Horrible officiating.

This the play?

Hey look at me! I work for the LA Times, not some rag like the Cincinnati Enquirer

This type of media strategy might have worked for Cronin in his previous stop in Cincinnati, but it doesn’t play in Los Angeles. Coaches in this market show up and face the critics. Every game. Every time. The sophisticated fan base demands it. The entertainment environment mandates it.

Louisville? Lol

They sound like just what Louisville needs!

"Williams was arrested following a shooting outside his San Diego-area mansion last year. The 19-year-old, who finished his prep career at San Ysidro (Calif.) in March 2023, faced nine felony charges, ranging from assault with a weapon, firing into an occupied vehicle and making threats that could result in bodily harm or death."

"in November, he agreed to a plea deal, pleading guilty to only one felony count of making criminal threats. As part of the deal, the charge is to be reduced to a misdemeanor upon sentencing on Aug. 12 if Williams completes and adheres to a host of conditions."

"Taylor − Williams' close friend, former teammate and former roommate − also is no longer with the Tigers. The freshman forward spent part of this season in Memphis, playing in three games for a total of six minutes.

Taylor was suspended for the Vanderbilt game on Dec. 23 for violating unspecified team rules and has not returned to the team."

NIL must be more lucrative than we thought 🙂

Social media and endorsements

Williams has established a large social media following. He had over one million Instagramfollowers before starting high school.[31] By the end of his freshman year of high school, he had almost 2 million followers on Instagram, including musician Drake and NBA players LeBron James and Kevin Durant.[32][33]Williams had accumulated 3.2 million followers on Instagram by the end of his sophomore year in high school.

On July 22, 2021, Williams signed a contract with Excel Sports Management to pursue Name, Image and Likeness endorsement opportunities.[34]

On October 28, 2021, Williams signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Puma, making him the first American high school basketball player to sign a sneaker deal with a global footwear company, at 17 years old.[35] Puma ended Williams' endorsement deal as a result of his pending legal issues.[36][37]

Penny is such an idiot...and no way is his team the 13th best in the nation.  Give him time and he'll coach his way out of the top 25.  His greatest strength has been his ability to recruit and it's apparent he's recruiting a lot of guys that will fit right in Memphis.

Anyone explain to me how Texas is still ranked in top 25 and their NET is 30? Whenever they've played anyone they've lost....and that also includes a 1 point win over Louisville which as of today is their best win on year.

Sure - the NET (or any other ranking system) is going to have flaws in it. We see a few examples every year, and it’s usually of the variety you highlighted that it overrates a team.

For the NET specifically, your ranking isn’t as important as your record against the different Quads. It’s really a system to say how many good wins you have. Texas wouldn’t have any and that would be a big ugly thing on their team sheet.

Typically the committee seems to sort that out and handle those cases appropriately.

Kansas loses at unranked UCF. College basketball is drunk and it keeps asking for another round. Zero predictability in anything. Add Tennessee in losing in Starksville. I'll say what I said last night. Get in the tourney somehow and get hot. That's the winner.

Funny part is when people catch up tonight or tomorrow. As Trilly and Rabby are joking right now. Computers are on a massive victory lap right now because Kansas is ranked 3rd but all the numbers say 12-20 range tops and this loss will justify.
