But the day comes when the kids are gone, and you have no one else to blame it on... And according to my wife, I'm always the perp... They damn near look exactly like a morel mushroom.

BeerBQ
I don’t think I posted these shelves I made. I found a piece of live edge sycamore at a flea market so I grabbed it. I cut around the knots to get some slabs with square(ish) ends, sanded the crap out of them, and added some finish.

Just eyeballing, but some shade of Walnut stain?

I used dark walnut danish oil then a few coats of polyurethane. I keep some flashlights and pocketknives on it so I wanted something durable. 5fouls
I'm really happy with how this turned out. And, before you ask, the answer is YES. I copied and pasted this image of some random person's backyard all by myself. .
HoosierFaithful
Not quite DIY, but we were the general contractors (hired subcontractors for a lot of the expert stuff) on our own backyard remodel and did all of the landscaping ourselves. I can't find any good current photos, but here's a before photo and one immediately pre-landscaping.

Growing up we had an above ground pool with a yard full of trees. Cleaning was almost a daily job and exhausting. Guess who got recruited? ME! 2

Seeking6
I finally get to contribute to this thread. Always amazed at the projects you guys can do on here. Here's my big conquest. Samsung Smart TV remote changing of batteries. The back side wouldn't budge. Been sitting here for 20 minutes watching tutorials on Youtube and they all have exact problem. The back won't slide off without some serious pressure. Crisis averted. TV working again and football available today. Sheez Samsung. I've broken locks easier....

Reacher
I spent my 3 day weekend after Thanksgiving redoing a bedroom that will be my wife's office. I had a painter paint the cathedral ceiling the earlier in the week. Friday I painted the walls and started on the flooring. The paint is Sherwin Williams Rainwashed which is a bluish green and changes color a bit depending on the time of day and light conditions. Pics below were taken in the am. When the room gets darker, it looks a little more greener. Saturday I largely finished the flooring. It was getting dark by 4:30 and I had 4 boards to go so I left that for Sun am. Replaced a couple outlets with USB outlets and screw less cover plates. Picked up the quarter round and will get that down this week sometime along with the rest of the outlets. By then, the room will be completely new except for the ceiling fan. My wife thinks she wants to replace that with a chandelier. Sometime in Dec the plan is to do the exact same thing for the other bedroom which is the exact same size and will become my office. While I think everything came out great for this room, it was my trial run for mine Edited November 29, 2021 by Reacher

I have bought lots of Sherwin Williams paint over the years and have not heard of that. I like the floor choice...it looks like something I would pick for our home. Good job! I hate painting. There is a reason I hired someone for the ceiling! It is not color changing paint or anything, certain light conditions just bring out the different colors.
