Since you like The War on Drugs (good, Granduciel’s nice blend of moody guitar work and a somewhat Dire Straits like sound but more edgy), do you like Tame Impala? I got into Tame about 4 years ago and now they’re trendy lol. I hear a little Zepplin influence thought this was pretty cool: https://pitchfork.com/tv/under-the-influences/tame-impalas-kevin-parker-breaks-down-his-favorite-drum-sounds/
Lostin76
Don’t know if people have been following the drum battle between Dave Grohl and the Whiz kid Nandi Bushell, but it’s a pretty fun story. The videos are hilarious. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/09/arts/music/dave-grohl-nandi-bushell-drums.html?searchResultPosition=1

tdhoosier
Was listing to my favorite songs of the 2010's playlist (I'm a nerd) and came across this one. Best jam by a Swedish group you've probably never have heard of. Great Booker T-ish organ and ends with a killer guitar solo.
tdhoosier
Also came across this weird but great song by Ariel Pink; it made me remember this video some random guy on the internet made for it. He put the music over clips of an 80s aerobic movie starring Jamie Lee Curtis and John Travolta. haha. So random and hilarious. Weirdly, it works and I can never listen to this song without thinking of aerobics.

Last dance with Mary Jane, Here comes my girl, Learning to Fly - these are just great songs btw gotta love the opening lyrics to Last dance with Mary Jane — She grew up in an Indiana Town Had a good looking Momma who never was around But she grew up tall and she grew up right With them Indiana boys on an Indiana night

Lostin76
I don’t know how it happened, but it does happen. I stumbled onto a Kelly Willis YouTube video of “Harper Valley PTA” and I’ve been a bit obsessed with it lately. I recall her from the early 90s and loved her “That’ll be Me,” “Heaven’s Just a Sin Away,” and others, I think that’s where it started. But I just love her confidence and spunk on this song while her band mates kind of groove along and then react to her as the song progresses. She’s just cool. snowling
Just love the way T Petty interacts with the audience in Breakdown (posted above). He and Heartbreakers always put on a great show. had a real rapport with the band members, as well. Arguably, the last time I saw them was the best. Great, tight band, that got better, the longer they played together. Go Hoosiers!

Couple true stories - he was rejected by the studios when trying to break into the business, had to hand walk his cassettes around. Then, was about to file bankruptcy when he had his first breakthrough hit. Glad he kept at it, one of the greats
