Very good guess because he had 3 assists off bench in 1985 playing third base....but this was for middle infielders only. I'm actually going to shut this one down because I think I've messed it up. The answer (at least I think it is) would be Don Mattingly. He played 2B after the famous Pine Tar game with GB. Billy Martin was still pissed at how things went down and put Mattingly at 2B and Ron Guidry in CF for final 4 outs. Not sure why he did that but he did. I'll do better next time to make sure it's a clear cut q and a.

Because he was Billy F'ing Martin, that why As for the trivia question, Baseball Reference says Mark Ryal in 1987 was the last left-hander to play a middle infield position (SS)...
rico
If Adam Vinatieri does indeed retire...he would be the third oldest player to ever play in the NFL. What 2 guys are ahead of him?

Drroogh
MLB record holder in at least two categories. One of two rumored players (although I can’t find the second) to have a career on base average of 1.00! Eat your heart out Ted Williams! Edited August 2, 2020 by Drroogh Even though he only had 1 career at bat, his jersey is/was on display at St Louis hall of game! Primarily because of his other MLB record!
