Not only that, but you have to think this hurts our chances of landing 5 star punters and kickers going forward. Why would you want to come to a place where the offense selfishly scores every drive?

You could be the IU versions of Pat McAfee and Adam Vinatieri? Complete with 16 games schedules if they become a CFP mainstay. 😤 😆

Now that we've saw reverses and halfback passing Coach Cig seems like the kind of guy who might even draw up preemptive onside kicks, fake FG's/EP's or Brad Wing type plays running or passing it if one of the specialists have the skills. We are talking keeping 5 star kickers and punters, right.

I don’t know how to link articles but ESPN just wrote Rourke likely out next week vs Washington

I was really hoping he could wear a glove and feel the same touch. Darn it. Tayven showed what he can do but he's not Rourke....hopefully rest of team can step up....which I know they will.

Washington is good against the pass (1st in Big 10 in opponents yards allowed with 123 a game) but have given up the 4th most rushing yards per game (143)...Tayven is more mobile than Rourke which could pay dividends...Plus, I think working with Cignetti and being behind Rourke has been great for his development...He looked sharp passing the ball yesterday...

It's a day later and I still can't believe it. My best friend from grade schools dad was a starting linebacker on Central Michigan's D2 1974 Championship team. His mom graduated from Michigan St.  They ended up down here in Southern Indiana and had season tickets.  Started going to games with them in 1992.

I've never seen an IU team completely dominate opponents like this.

Honestly, I’m getting the funny feeling Tayven is going to really embrace this opportunity and really shine!

As stated in a Vols FB fan first and when Tayven was here we understood why he left but didn’t want to lose him. At practice he was a great kid soaking it in, athletic, nice arm, and what little snaps he got as a frosh showed some touch and zip. REALLY hoping he succeeds and I KNOW all Vol fans would be thrilled if he does. 100% will

Hopefully he’s gotten over his propensity to stare down his receivers and work through his professions like a seasoned QB.

He looked solid yesterday.  Much more poised, and threw some solid balls. His coaching,  o line, receivers/TE, and running backs are all much improved from last year.

You can tell he and Rourke have a great relationship, and Tayven should have strong support from Kurtis.  He also plays similar to Rourke in terms of style, so there shouldn't be much change in terms of scheme. Rourke is special,  but hopefully Tayven can step up and lead until he can return.
