Michigan and USC now with two losses each. Will they both still be ranked ahead of IU?
i realize it doesn't necessarily matter but it will still be BS if they are. Thats the problems with rankings, if you are perceived to be good and given a high ranking before the season even starts, you will hold onto that despite losses.  Why cant we start the college season without rankings and maybe assign them after two games or so?

It doesn’t matter now either. Won’t matter until like week 8 imo….but how do you market games without rankings lol! It’s a marketing ploy for Fox and ESPN.

Getting even worse for Purdue football

Luckily it sounds like a change is coming sooner rather than later.  Good chance it happens after Oregon game. Being the first P2 job open could be helpful.

I'm betting they hire someone like Chuck Martin from Miami-Ohio. Another coach that is known for doing more with less.

I think they have to go with someone who has the following:

- offensive-minded background.  Lean into the Cradle of Quarterbacks.

-HC with success (at multiple places ideally)

-Bring staff with him.

Just kidding.  The blueprint is there though.

I mean we did it with Brohm.  Why we didn’t do something similar is beyond me.  We’ve never had a successful first-time HC.

Purdue's just in the wrong conference.

Heck, they would have the third best Sagarin rating in the Pac 12.  :coffee:

Or, if that's not exciting enough, they would have the 5th best rating in the Missouri Valley.

Wrong conference? How about wrong division? By SP+, they would have the 3rd best rating in South Dakota and they’d just miss out on being a top 5 FCS school (6th). They could be a very good, but not quite elite FCS team!

Chris Creighton is another guy. Probably the guy they should've hired when they hired Walters. Offensive guy. Wins with extremely limited resources.
