To further protect the fish, state officials collected and relocated the thriving fish and fingerlings to a safer area in July. I remember most of my young life there was an eagle nest on the island out on the lake. Some people decided they JUST HAD to climb the tree and count and measure the eggs because DDT was doing so much harm! The parents abandoned the nest and the eggs and never returned!
