I prefer McCloud.

I also thought he was on a visit this weekend?

The only QB visits I knew were scheduled included Cherry, Mendoza, and Rourke. There really hasn’t been any news or anything for that matter on McCloud.

Chris on BTBers mentioned McCloud this week. Said he was going to be in town.

Maybe he was. I hadn’t paid too much attention to things the last few days so I missed that. They also could’ve gotten non QB commits too considering they had several other visits this weekend.

I'm hoping IU lands Cherry and a transfer at QB.

I fully expect IU to land McCloud or Rourke as their transfer QB to start next year. Then land one of Cherry or Mendoza as the freshman QB for this cycle. I prefer Cherry but I’d be fine with Mendoza too.

Just because of physical tools. It gives the new QB coach clay to mold so to speak. That said I’d be happy with either.

I struggle to believe this kid is a Top 300 player, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't want him, and definitely doesn't mean I'm right.

All I'm saying our opinion shouldn't be we want Chery because someone on 247 lists him higher than Mendoza.... just using this situation as an example.

Every clip of Cherry I’ve seen, he would  lock into his first read but that’s not unusual for a high school kid.  But he’s going to need a lot of development.  He does have good tools.  CCC and Sunseri will get it out of him of he has got it.  The track record is great.

Not a ringing endorsement from Tyler Cherry about the old coaching staff.

It was definitely a different feel being down at IU this time,” Cherry said. “Their coaching staff made us feel right at home and put on a great presentation for us. Got to meet with Coach Cignetti, Coach Tino and Coach Shanahan and talk to those guys and talk football and it was a different feel down in Bloomington than before.”

That really surprises me that CTA and staff was on the wrong side of hospitality with recruits.

I like the auto increase of 500k for assistants if we get to a bowl.

Our DC, OC, and QB coach (Haines, Shanahan and Sunseri) all seem like legit stud coaches.  I wouldn’t be surprised if we look back at this staff someday and see that we have three future head coaches right there.  If they produce, pay them for as long as needed.  When was the last time we had a staff with this much electricity?
