KDB
I’m going to assume he will be re-recruited by the new coach.
Naturalhoosier
I understand the emotions, but why not wait it out to see who takes over the helm? Ah well. Who knows maybe the next coach will bring in someone.

HoosierFaithful
I don’t even care about football rosters for several more months. The fluidity of NIL and portal era just makes it hard to form any attachment. I’m not saying I’d change it, it’s just a cause and effect

Always a dumpster fire. I sure hope Dolson made the right decision. His hire was not a home run.
Artesian_86
The new coach will know what kind of players he wants. We naturally want him to want our guys because of our connections with them. However, the new coach most likely will have players want to transfer to IU with him as well. That usually happens. He will most likely try to re-recruit his ‘24 commitments….. This will be a new uphill battle at IU and I really hope that Dolson and the boosters can pull in someone to make splash from day one. A mediocre hire, in my opinion, is unacceptable….
Common Sense
Glad to see Dexter Williams leave with an IU degree in hand. That is what it is all about anyway. Congrats to him and his family. Sorsby could be a really good quarterback. He should probably wait to see who the new coach is before jettisoning off the Cincinnati or another MAC level program, which he probably is. He’ll end up at Big 12 school.

BobSaccamanno
Sorbsy may be going to Cincinnati but other than him and McCulley I’m not too worried about losing anyone else off a one P4 win team. It sucks as a fan to support them and root for their development. In Sorsby’s case, we were the only school interested, and we must watch him leave without waiting to see how the change plays out. Having said that, if we get the right coach, he will bring in good players. Other than those two, who really cares when you couldn’t beat anybody.

jojo123
Doyle and his Indystar article. Right coach can win here now! So tell us know it all. Who is that coach that can win here now? An unproven? Had been done and failed. A young up and comer? Tried failed! A mid major? Tried failed! Major player, proven big time winner. Never been tried. Why? Look at the totality of this and what is the one common denominator? An administration that has not and probably still does not care about football. They care more about being politically correct. Finally a player comes out and speaks the truth and the media says. He’s just supporting his coach. Until we hold that admin accountable our mens sports programs will continue to suffer. Until we hold that admin accountable our mens sports programs will continue to suffer. I think this may have been true of past administrations but I’m not convinced this is true of this one. We just made a big investment to fire a coach. There are rumors of a major facility project coming. We gave Allen a major pay upgrade after arguably the two greatest seasons in two generations and we have paid assistants more than ever before. We have a new president. Let’s see how this all plays out. 3
