IU247
Mackenzie's deal is kind of unique because the crazy thing is Mackenzie's mom reached out to coach Woodson with a text. And so that's initially how it got started. No, (our staff) didn't know him, but just obviously being from the New Jersey area, coach (Woodson) being a (New York) Knick guy, and just the people around. So she actually reached out to coach first and inquired about us recruiting her son, so that's initially how it kind of came about. "And then within the people that coach (Woodson) knew and coach (Yasir Rosemond) knew, they started a process of getting more information and getting in-depth with his recruitment, and then it just kind of, day-by-day, week-by-week, it just started picking up traction. And so that's initially how it started.
IU247
Imagine Kansas losing a recruit because his mom was like “hey maybe I’ll text Indiana?” 3

I would think that and the Melo/Woody relationship are two big things. Melo is a big Woody supporter and had some of his best years playing for him, and now his son might come play for him. That’s a huge endorsement IMO.

He said that, but then he somewhat contradicted the statement. Maybe it was over in Mgbako's mind, but nobody at IU knew that. "So, at the end of the day, once (the visit) had happened, you wipe your hands and you just sit and wait patiently until you kind of get that sign. And we didn't get that sign until very late. No one knew. "He actually, he kind of told us he was calling at a certain time (on decision day), just to let us know one way or the other. So we all gathered up and a big roar came out... It was an exciting moment for our staff because he is a really good talent and we're excited to have him.

So while some of the locals were getting restless because of missing out on early portal recruits our staff was laying the groundwork to nail the biggest off season commit.

Popular Post MoyeCowbell
Page after page was spent comparing and contrasting facilities and all the perks a school can present in their offers. Essays were written about the importance of Keeping up with the Joneses and having the nicest amenities. But it comes down to the relationships. The ability to communicate and relate. As Coach Hunter pointed out, Adam Howard's idea of having the Nigerian flag available for Mgbako on his visit was an excellent move that shows the staff is paying attention. It's a seemingly little thing that is actually very big. Nobody wants to be treated like a number. This staff has proven that they value the person under the jersey first, and that will go a loooooong way.

HurryinHoosiers
Looks good. Only worry is if he can stay in front of guards that he will often get matched up with at the 3 (since many teams still use a 3 guard lineup).

He's going to have a lot of length on them and realistically he'll guard the slowest perimeter player on the other team with X and Trey out there. And you've got Ware behind him to send anything away.

Legit concern, but he appears to move similar to JHS, and we'll also have Ware to protect the rim. MM's length should also allow him to recover if he gets beat by shorter wings. He'll also punish shorter wings on the offensive end.

Staying in front of guards was JHS's biggest issue as well (at least on defense). Yea, his length could be the great eraser as long as he can keep close enough to utilize it.
