I thought about stopping in Walmart to buy Purdue gear just to troll today, could take it back on by end of tournament.

I'm tempted buy an FDU shirt and go to a purdue game next season, preferably a neutral site so I could avoid west lafayette.

Take Edey off that team and they STILL should have won that game by 15 based on talent.  I think they feature Edey too much.  It restricts what the the others can do.

The freshmen backcourt was never going to work in the tournament either.

I'll confess I did not see the PU game last night (my daughter had an event), but my guess is there was an over-reliance on Edey, and when he was taken away, no one else was ready to step up.

I don't think they could handle FDU's quickness.  They had 11 steals and were all over the ball the whole game.  Edey couldn't hold on to the ball for the last 11 - 12 minutes.

I am still trying to wrap my mind around Purdue's loss.  Getting beat by a #16 that wasn't supposed to be there?  Getting beat by a team that had a play-in game?  Wow.  The Boilers are in the midst of the best basketball years they have ever had and this happens?   I dunno.

Smallest team in D1 with an average height of 6’3”. Three key players were D2 last year

Predictions for game of the day today?  I’ll go with Kansas/Arkansas. I wouldn’t be shocked to see another one seed go home.

I think Houston goes down today. Also don’t be surprised if Penn state and Texas is super close. Both teams have shooters for days.

Hope the vols pull the upset now that Purdue is out.

Here's my thing. My hatred for Purdue is mostly if not all fan related. I found myself last night almost feeling bad though for the players. All that work all the accolades and literally joined the 2-150 club. FDU might as well be PTSD for them.

I think Kansas cruises. The Arkansas team I watched play vs Illinois was brutal. I think Duke wins going away. Auburn with the home game vs a very, very beatable Houston team and I believe Auburn wins.

Our 2 Big 10 brothers have interesting games. I think UCLA locks down Northwestern but Penn St and Pickett....something smells like upset there.

Agree. All about the fans during basketball season. Very few players ( Davidson, Bohannon, craft, izzo, mcaffery coaches) really have me not wanting a team not playing iu to lose outside of being our rivals.

As the game unfolded I couldn't help but think...what happened to Purdue exemplifies why the B1G struggles in the NCAAT.

Trust me. When Fischer said it 15-20 years ago and Rabby kept hammering the same thing one day the Big 10 will get together and realize maybe IU was right all these years. The officiating has to change so that we can get more and more of the elite players. We'll be just fine with Woodson but teams like Illinois, Wisconsin, Purdue in some instances....have to change that style up.

And for you Purdue folks out there...

I've already fulfilled my requirement of on PUke compliment per decade, but...

You guys are fools if you fire Matt Painter...the guy is as good an Xs and Os coach as there is in the Big 10...He does have to change his recruiting philosophy in my eyes though...I know it's all noble and everything to get the savvy but unathletic kids with high basketball IQs from the state, but you gotta get some athleticism, and you have to manage it...The freshmen hit a wall...and while there's no doubt they'll get better over the years, they are limited by their size and athleticism, particularly on defense...

People say "What about Ivey?" I thought Painter did a poor job of managing his ego and having him fit into the offense, He took the Brad Underwood approach and simply got him the ball, hoping he would do something positive...

I know it's tough because West Lafayette isn't the most beautiful place on the planet, but if Painter ever gets some players, I think he can make some noise...

I know I missed it on here so apologies in advance if duplicated. Kudos to FAU Head Coach Dusty May sending Penny packing. May was an Eastern Greene guy. Student Manager under Coach Knight. Spent time with Davis staff as well as Mike White.

This guy is a name we'll be hearing about in a few years. Somebody will step up and get this guy....just a matter of time.

No Bill Self again today. I don't think him missing this game will matter much...talent alone they win this one. Down the road it may come into play but he's been suspended so many times maybe it won't?

Catch up later gang. Those 1am bed times has me far behind on the to do list so I can catch second half of early games.

They were in a tough spot. Their guards just struggled and there wasn’t much else to do.
I didn’t really think they could lose until a late possession where Gillis looked scared to shoot a wide open 3.

Should have played Furst more. They went with Gillis for shooting but actually with them doubling Edey they should have posted Furst…plus he was a much better rebounder for second chance points. Furst diving to the basket after Edey gets doubled would have killed them.

I wonder if he ever says “screw it I have done all I can do here” and puts out feelers to a school in the SEC or the like who will play the NIL game and make the jump.
