Reds on the verge to lose again. So far has given up 3 runs in the 10th and now down 6-3. Had a 3-0 lead until the 6th and Ashcraft gave up a solo homer and a two run homer in the 8th. He pitched great but made two mistakes to the only two hitters in the Nats lineup that can hurt you. In the 10tj they brought Diaz back for a second inning and didn't go well. Gave up 3 runs and a homer to one of those hitters that beat you. Those two hitters accounted for 3 homers and 5 RBI. The bad thing was in the 8th Ashcraft got the first two outs easy and then gave up a single that was a dribbler down the first base line. It look like the runner ran out of the baseline. Next batter a home run.

Reds 8th innings ng they left the bases loaded. Something must be wrong with Fraley because Fairchild came up with one out and two runners on but Fraley didn't come in

Reds blew that game losing 6-3 and couldn't even get the ghost runner to score. He never moved off of second.  This loss was the lack of offense and we were 0-10 with runners in scoring position. Hit 3 solo homers but nothing after 3 innings. It looks like that Cubs series was the beginning of the end of the Reds run. Wonder if we will be back in first this year.

Even if Fraley was unavailable tonight (no report yet), that was a horrible managing job by Bell.  He used both Friedl and Benson as pinch runners.  They would have both been more valuable as pinch-hitters for Fairchild and Senzel.

Also why would you bat Newman 5th in the lineup. I am still not happy they gave Bell the extension for 3 years.  We need someone to be able to pinch hit for Fairchild in the 9th. I also wished Freidl would have stolen a base when there were no outs with Benson up. If he got to second then Benson's fly ball would have gotten him to 3rd.

Once again the same problem plaguing the Reds lately are rearing their heads again. Abbott through 3+ innings has 5 walks and our batters has struck out 4 times. Freidl just made an error to that caused a run to score. Down 4-0 and not getting any better. Reds has not had a base runner yet and haven't hit the ball out of the infield

Throwing error by Maile scores another run 5-0

To me it seems pretty me the Reds offense started to go down was when they put EDLC in the leadoff position.

Through 4 innings the Nats pitcher is pitching a perfect game and has only thrown 46 pitches compared to Abbott throwing 76. The Reds batters has struck out 6 times and has 6 groundouts

Reds lose 7-3 on only 4 hits. The Reds are falling apart and have went away from what made them successful and exciting to watch. They wasn't relying on homers and was hitting a lot of doubles and triples and taking the extra base whe being aggressive. They were stealing a lot of bases but lately been tentative when we get on base. Our defense has totally went in tbe toilet while they have committed 4 errors in a game twice in the past 4 games. In their 5 game losing streak they have been outscored 54-24. All 6 runs in this series has come on 3 solo homers and a 3 run homer

Darn good win on bullpen day for the Cubs. Have Steele going tomorrow. Let's see what happens. Either way sweep avoided and a very, very tasty schedule coming for the next 15 of 18.

Stop the Presses!!

The Yankees beat the Assstroles today by the score of 3-1!! They can go for the series win tomorrow with a W!

A couple of things were significant in this game

#1. They finally beat the Yankee Killer Verlander!! How saweet it is!

#2. Nestor Cortez came back today after being on the IL for a couple of months. He struck out 8 in his 4.1 innings he pitched!

Are the Yankees starting to turn things around? IDK, they have a long way to go.

Tim Anderson of the White Sox gets knocked on his arse by Jose Ramirez...

Best punch in MLB since Rougned Odor tagged Jose Bautista...

And to make it even more funny. Eloy got hurt in the brawl. Total implosion of a season for the South Siders.

How would you like to be an Angels fan right now? 2-7 since not dealing Ohtani. They acquire pitching and are fading quickly all the while not getting one single player for Ohtani. That GM caved into the emotional bliss of not wanting to be known as the guy who traded Ohtani and now?
