For some reason I he Reds keep getting hosed by the he plate ump. Tonight we have had 3 batters called out on strikes on pitches 3 inches off the plate. Our pitchers don't get the same call because Ashcraft had the guy struck out but didn't get the call.

Brewers just tied the game at 2 in the bottom of the 6th. For some reason we just can't hit the Brewers pitchers even the mediocre ones. Their pitcher tonight has a 4.59 ERA but only could score 2 against him in 6 innings

One of those strikeouts was against Benson on a 3-2 pitch and wasn't close. It would have been runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs. Next batter EDLC hit a homer which should have been a 3 run homer.

Also Votto has to be benched because he is 2-32 since the break

Reds lose 3-2 with a walk off single by Yelich. Once again a leadoff walk kills you. Diaz walked the leadoff hitter on 4 pitches, Winker single and the Yelich single. Two of the Brewers runs were off of a leadoff walk. Reds pitchers walked 7 and Brewers only walked 1. The Reds batters were to aggressive and didn't work the pitchers at all. In two innings the Brewers got through an inning on 6 and 5 pitches. Once again the difference between these two teams is the bullpen. Their closer came in and got a 1,2,3 innings where our closer couldn't get an out

Bench Votto.  Trade Diaz.

Milwaukee leads the NL Central despite ranking last in the National League in OPS, slugging, on-base percentage and batting average. Brewers pitchers have the NL’s third-lowest ERA at 3.93.

You must have went over to RedZone after the game last night. Some people are ridiculous talking about how much worse that Diaz has been this year. It is people who just go off of analytics and not the true stats.

Everyone is saying how we need starting pitching but the offense is what we have lost against Milwaukee.

He hadn't missed a game all year until 4 days ago and now he has set two of the last four games.

I understood him sitting that game a couple of days ago...

But last night, amongst the rumors? 1st game of a massive series. It was interesting at minimum, right?

Ashcraft is avg 6IP over his last 5 starts.. 2.10ERA 1.26WHIP

If you truly ever get Greene, NL going as Ace (ish) guys they project to be.. I understand that night catch some flak, but HG in first 100IP, as a 22/23 yr old, is a 4.25ERA... if it ever gets to consistently below 3.80..

Anyways, if Abbott/Ashcraft end up as your "4-5" guys down the road, mercy, that should excite us as Reds fans, right? Or even if they were your 3-4 guys... and maybe a Rhett Lowder/Brandon Williamson are your 5s.

Oh, Cincy has some young, controllable starting pitchers.  Add to that the young, controllable positional players and the Reds appear to be set for quite a few years.

Problem is do they have enough to get by the Braves in that time span?  Or even the Dodgers?
