The Cardinals did it in 1982, 83, 85, and 86... In 84 and 87 they had 6 players do it...

In 1985, they had 5 players with over 30, led by Vince Coleman's 110...

I didn't go past 1990, but I don't believe the Reds have done it since at least then. (1990 had 6) so before that..

Moving forward.. I think they have 4-5 guys that can consistently steal 20-25 bags. EDLC could steal 50.

1982, I think is the last time.

1976 had 8.

Today shows me the Cardinals have thrown up the white flag on the season. You call up Taylor Motter to start and even with some guys out of the lineup, you still give Goldschmidt his “scheduled” off day. And Montgomery who has been our ace shits the bed and hurts his trade value on top of all that.

Well he couldn't and was taken out after 3 batters

Yeah, but maybe Diaz needed a day off.  You've pointed out more than once that he's not been as effective lately.  And I imagine Sims could have needed rest too.  So, yeah, he took a chance.  Give Bell a break because the Reds won.

What the hell is Bell thinking, up 7-3 going to the 9th and you bring Stoudt in. He just was just recalled and has a 9.95 ERA.

4 run lead.

A 9.95 ERA is indicative of a little over than 1 run an inning.

So, by the numbers, the game most likely would have ended 7-4 even if Stoudt pitched the whole inning.

Critical series with Milwaukee starting Monday

The bullpen had been pitching a lot lately.

I'm with Bell on that move.  Gotta take the chance to see if he could get it done unscathed.

Before not pitching well Friday---

Fernando Cruz had thrown 16IP 1ER 5H 24K

Get Antone, Lodolo, Greene back... who goes back down? Weaver, Stoudt, and Law?

Lively or Williamson to the pen?

Read something today that indicated Lodolo would likely not be ready before September, if then.  I'm not counting on him this season.

Antone replaces Stoudt.

Greene replaces Weaver

Without Lodolo, both Lively and Williamson stay in rotation unless they add a starter through a trade.

I could see not using Sims and Diaz but could have used others who have been on the roster longer.

I would rather see a trade for a couple of relievers, one having to be a LHP
