  1. Best case 10-1, worst case 8-3, but it’s not so much the record, but the way we lost and Rutgers was not one I thought we would lose.
  2. Like I said, I’m not giving up on the season….I hope you’re right.
  3. Wish I could be that optimistic and I’m not giving up on the season, but with four upperclassmen starters (TJD, Thompson, Johnson and Kopp) development shouldn’t be an issue. If they haven’t developed by now, we’re in real trouble - just sayin.
  4. That would be tough…it was a total team effort in poor play.
  5. Prime time games like this and Arizona absolutely kill recruiting!
  6. 23 turnovers on the road, and giving up 10 offensive rebounds says it all. We played in panic mode all game long. Woodson has a lot of work to do. On a positive note at least we broke 50 pts, and the season is still young. Forget about rankings and get back to work. TJD is going to be double/triple teamed the rest of the season, so we better figure out how to take advantage that.
  7. Not much to say….so disappointed. The only consolation is that it’s not a conference game.
  8. Coming in at #14 feels about right after losing 2 out of 3. We’ll see if we can regroup when we get JHS back, and get some nice road wins in the B10. If we do, the rankings will follow.
  9. I watched Arizona on the road against Utah and they looked average at best. Vegas was like a home game for them, and they gave us their best shot early on, and we didn’t match their intensity. I know it’s easy to say, but we have to be ready from the opening tip, and not dig ourselves a 19 point hole and expect to come back against good teams like Arizona.
  10. Arizona had 16 offensive rebounds…won’t win against good teams allowing that.
  11. It’s obvious we need to continue to work on our rebounding and defending the 3pt line. Too many offensive rebounds and open looks from 3. We’re a good team, but not quite there yet. Getting JHS back will help in both areas. On the positive side we shot 40% from 3. Tamar is looking better each game, and will be a major factor before year’s end. Still think we’re a potential final four team.
  12. As important JHS is to our offense, it can’t be understated what it means to have an athletic 6’6” guard out front playing defense.
  13. We’ll need another big game out of Galloway and Bates to have a chance without JHS.
  14. Won’t last long once conference play begins… good team, but not great.
  15. Hope Woody takes XJ aside and tells him to take a couple of deep breaths, and reminds him he doesn’t have to do it all by himself.
  16. Hopefully, he’ll be ready for Kansas, but I’m starting to get concerned. Normally, spasms don’t last this long.
  17. BTN just reported JHS out tonight…bummer.
  18. Nebraska just got robbed by another terrible last second call by the B10 refs.
  19. I just watched the video, and personally loved his (mildly salty) response to toughness. There isn’t any magic to it….it’s all about effort! I’m sure he’ll send a strong message on Wednesday, and have place on the bench for anyone lacking in that category.
  20. But then again, there aren’t many shooters as good as Hulls and Miller.
  21. Exactly, great shooters don’t hesitate and think, they shoot!
  22. Nebraska’s win at Creighton just proves anything can happen in the crazy world of college basketball. Does it mean that Nebraska is better than Creighton? No. Is Rutgers a better team than us? No, but they outplayed us on Saturday, and deserved to win. We’ll bounce back and be a better for it. We have too much talent, and are too well coached to let one bad game derail our season. I fully expect us to win on Wednesday and again on Saturday against Arizona - just need JHS back and healthy!
  23. Not much to say other than we played poorly, and got beat by a better team today. They did to us what we did to NC. Still high on the team though…we need JHS back and healthy in a hurry!
