  1. That would be nice, if it really mattered. They gave ILL a 65% chance of beating us and look what happened. If we come out with same intensity/focus we had against WIS and ILL, we’ll be fine, if not, watch out - it could be NW all over again.
  2. Would love to have him back, but it’s time to take his shot at the NBA. I’m betting he’s a second rounder, and has a solid career as a pro - time to go for it.
  3. Good for Luke…keep it up and prove all the doubters wrong.
  4. Good all around effort today. Don’t know about the rest of you, but man am I going to miss watching TJD play. He was outstanding in the second half!
  5. The men’s team could learn a lot by watching the women play. I’m watching them play #9 Maryland and they do everything well - run an offense with purpose, play defense, rebound, hit free throws and close out games!
  6. Yeah, but we’re 38.2 from three. Does that make you feel any better?
  7. I can appreciate that, but I’ve tried lately not to let a loss get to me so much and remind myself it’s only a game. I can report, I’ve been moderately successful. 😬
  8. I have zero expectations for tonight’s game and the rest of the season, but will continue to watch and pull for the Hoosiers regardless of the outcome ….that’s what we do.
  9. As tough as the loss was, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the performance that TJD and JHS put on yesterday. If we can just get more consistency from the supporting cast, we can still be pretty good and a serious threat in the BTT and the NCAAs. It’s beginning to look like JHS might only be here for one season, so we better appreciate him while we can.
  10. Great post…normally, with the two losses we suffered this week, I’d be miserable, but we were visiting with our brand new grandson in Miami, so I was determined not to let it ruin the moment and to enjoy the special time with my family. I reminded myself there’s more important things than IU basketball, and it’s important to keep that in perspective. We’re only fans and the coaches, players and their families have so much more invested in the game than we do.
  11. Good point….talent is not the issue. We’re probably the only team in the B10 with four 5-star players (TJD, Bates, JHS, MR) on their roster. Heck, most teams in the nation don’t have that much talent. We just haven’t put it together yet for whatever reason. It looks like the B10 championship is fading fast, but we still have the BTT and the NCAAs to redeem ourselves. Here’s hoping XJ and Trace can make it back for both.
  12. We’re in deep trouble….all NW has to do is hit their FTs from here on out.
  13. This was another disappointing loss for a number of reasons, but I get to hold my new grandson today, so life is good! 😄
  14. Some thoughts: 1. We lost he game when we lost Race 2. What happened to our defense - hard to win giving up 91 pts. 3. 65% from the free throw line won’t get it done. 4. Out rebounded by 5 and gave up 13 offensive boards.
  15. Offensive rebounds have killed us all year!
  16. You never know….just hoping for the best.
  17. Hoping Race’s injury isn’t serious….great young man and ultimate team player.
  18. How many times have we seen this movie?
  19. What I really like about CJ is his athleticism and aggressiveness. His put back dunk the other night may have been the highlight of the year so far. We need more of that, and he seems fearless on the court. Granted, only a small sample against lesser opponents, but I like what I’ve seen so far.
  20. In my original post I said I was ”excited about his potential”
  21. As much as I hate losing XJ, I feel good about turning the team over to JHS, and we might actually be a better team by tournament time. He’s shown he’s more than capable to take over at point guard, and Bates and Gunn will get more playing time to build confidence in their roles. I’m really excited about Gunn’s potential - he’s a good defender, can score at all 3 levels and is fearless on offense and defense. And of course, Galloway is the prototypical 6th man. Throw in Geronimo, Banks and Duncombe and that’s an impressive bench to go along with TJD, Race, and Kopp. The only missing piece is consistency and attitude, and that’s CMW’s job to get that straight.
  22. Not a doctor either, but I believe sometimes it’s difficult to see hairline fractures until swelling goes down.
  23. The men need to take a serious look at the ladies team. They lose their best player in Berger and they plug in Parrish, and keep rolling to 11-0. With XJ out it’s time for the whole team to grow a pair, and for Galloway, Bates and maybe even Gunn to step up in a big way.
