Glad I’m not the only one who sees it. Sure Edey is an effective player, but it’s only b/c of his height. Dude has developed a shot, but that’s it. He’s not able to do anything else but shoot and rebound right by the basket.

He’s boring and one dimensional, and I would add that I don’t see him doing the things TJD does to develop his team. One note, boring, tall dude from a boring one note school.

Nothing personal, but not much of future for a 7’4” plodder in today’s NBA….just ask Cofi Cockburn and Luka Garza. I won’t be surprised, if Edey goes undrafted.

Isiah Thomas still lost 17 games in his two seasons. Isiah Thomas never won at Mackey. Isiah Thomas lost to Texas-Pan American. Isiah Thomas started out both seasons ranked in the top five, then fell out of the polls entirely. They climbed back, but were only ranked in the mid-teens heading into the tournament.

"Inconsistent" gets overused in college basketball. Only a small handful of teams in any season could be said to be consistent, and those are your top seeds. The last Indiana team that could be said to be consistent was maybe the '12-13 team, and people still love to tell you about every loss that team took along the way. Before that you probably have to go back to '92-93 to find a consistent Indiana team. It just doesn't happen often in this sport, and when it does it's special.

Every season has its ups and downs, but those get lost to history. I don't remember Maui when I think of the '15-16 season, I think of Yogi's step back three at Iowa to secure a Big Ten championship. I think of Tom Crean shooting finger guns at John Calipari in the NCAA Tournament. We remember Zeke for winning a championship (and for his NBA career), and we forget all the missteps that happened along the way.

We're a projected 4 seed this year. In the 30 years since Calbert Cheaney, only that '12-13 team had a higher seed. Only two other teams even matched this one on the 4-line. The '11-12 team was one, and is remembered fondly for their performances against Kentucky, but we forget some of the mind boggling losses in the middle of that season. This is what a 4 seed looks like: big wins and frustrating losses. I'd love to be a 1 seed and have aspirations at a national championship. Of course, the last time we played for a title it was as a five seed. So let's enjoy the season for what it is, and not make the perfect the enemy of the good. Still two tournaments left to go, that will define how we think about the season for years to come.

Very well said, so I’ll just in throw in a “like” and go about my day, and get ready for the BTT.

yes, that's the one. I know I know... Who is getting noticed tonight? IU or PU? CMW has gotten 1000 more from this group than imagined, but they are just not killers. I hate it, I love them for what they've accomplished. But they don;t have the mentality to finish.

I'm not hating on our team at all. But I also am not storming Normandy with them.

I get it, and I think CMW has gotten about as much as could be expected out of this group, especially after we lost our alpha dog point guard early on. All in all this season has been a big step forward, and I suspect we’ll win a few more before it’s over.

Getting swept by Iowa and Northwestern imo where we lost the B1G. Probably not going undefeated at home but man those two home losses were daggers.

Yeah, and we only lost the first Iowa game and the two against NW by a grand total of 5 pts.

I’d be very surprised, and honestly disappointed if Bates transfers. The only returning player who’s played more minutes than him is Galloway. I know he’s struggled in conference play, but I still think he has the potential to be a good player.

    Agree 👍

    Sparks is not a freshman.

I know, he’s a Sophomore. He has two years of eligibility left. I have no idea if he’ll leave, but since he put his name in the portal last year, it makes you think he might try again. Just one to keep an eye on, since we’re losing both TJD and Race.

Let the speculation begin! I’ll throw out Payton Sparks (6’9”/240) from Ball St. as a great pickup, if he were to enter the portal. He put his name in last year, but decided to stay when Lewis was named the coach, so I doubt he leaves, but you never know.

With TJD, Kopp, Thompson and XJ all graduating, and JHS likely gone, we‘ll have no choice, but to be very active in the portal this off season. Since we only have 2 commits coming in next year, we’re looking at 3-4 transfers at a minimum, and maybe more depending on how many transfer out.

Was about to post this. Very good chance Maryland and Nwestern lose Sun and we end up the 3. Much prefer to be the 2 or 3.

I just hope our guys are laser focused on what they need to do, because if we don’t win all the conversation about seeding and a double bye won’t matter.
