I think the announcer had it. He thoug
Clark got the inbound pass, was trapped, and just through it blindly all the way down the court. Got picked off, quick 3, they lost by 1.
Yeah, really bad play that cost them the game. With only 8 seconds to play, all they had to do was inbound the ball, and go to the FT line and game over.

Right after UVA missed that shot my TV went to an emergency response test. If that had happened 3 seconds to earlier I would have been pissed.
Well I picked Furman to win so I am glad to see that ending
I picked Furman too, so my bracket is safe.

On ESPN’s First Take both Stephen A. and Mad Dog are picking the Hoosiers to win the Midwest and advance to the Final Four. 😀
Of course, Jay Bilas is picking Kent St. to upset us in the first round.

Potential. Can we find some consistency? Play four good games in a row? I don’t know that we did that all year.
That’s the big question.

A little history - we last played Kent St. in the the Elite 8 in 2002 and won 81-69. They were led by an all-conference power forward named Antonio Gates, who went on to be an all-pro tight end in the NFL for the Chargers. We hit 15 3s in that game with Coverdale, Hornsby and company leading the way that propelled us into the Final Four, and eventual National Title game against Maryland.
Not suggesting we hit 15 3s, but perhaps that’s where we’re headed again this year, and it starts with the Golden Flashes on Friday night.

Worrying about Kent State is foolish to me. 🤷♂️
Not many of us were worried about St. Mary’s last year, and look what happened. I think we win, but it won’t be easy.

There are no easy ones now, so we better take this game seriously. MAC teams always show up in the tournament, and aren’t an easy out. If we’re looking ahead, it spells trouble.

Going to have to play well regardless of the opponent - look what Saint Mary’s did to us last year, and I know some will say we were worn out, because of the travel schedule, but my point is all the teams are good now…so beware.

No they don’t!

We’re dumb. I mean..it’s not like we don’t watch film on our opponents and come up with a game plan, but we choose to not execute!!
It was a rhetorical question, and I didn’t want to say it, but you’re absolutely right.

Question - why does it always take us half the game, and digging ourselves a big hole, to start defending the 3, especially against good shooting teams?

While it would have been great to win the BTT, it might be a blessing to have another day off before the Big Dance. What scares me the most are teams in the draw that have multiple threats from 3. It always seems to take half the game before we make any adjustments, and start defending on the perimeter. All the season long we’ve played help defense and doubled when it wasn’t really necessary, leaving good 3 pt shooters wide open to knock down the shot. After yesterday’s game, let’s hope we’ve finally learned that lesson.

I'm kind of depressed after this loss I was really hoping for a win. I don't have any analysis to offer that hasn't already been brought forth.
I will say that I really appreciate the 100s of commenters that bring thoughtful discussion to EVERY post game loss and post win discussion thread. I live in a place where no one cares about Indiana basketball or even basketball in general and it's nice to be able to share the Indiana losses and wins with people that care as much about Indiana basketball as I do.
I understand…I live in NC, and of course, it’s all about Duke and UNC around here…which makes me gag!

What this team needs most is a guy that can get his own shots off the dribble, isn't afraid to let it fly when the occasion calls for it, and can guard the perimeter. It just so happens we have a guy who fits that exact description wearing street clothes on the bench.
Amen to that!

Yea I’m really struggling to understand why he isn’t putting up the shots. 🤷♂️🤔
Kopp’s done that all year long…has to be wide open before he’ll pull the trigger. Galloway is pretty much the same. The only one who’ll let it fly is Bates, and I’ve been encouraged in his play the last few games, so hopefully that will benefit us in the NCAAs.

No, the NBA already knows what he is. He played his way into being a 2nd round pick. The "modern" NBA is your 5 being able to shoot the 3. Great college player, avg. pro.
Probably, somewhere in between….late 1st / early second round, and a solid pro career.

I was thinking more of when IU would play them, but I wouldn't rule out a MN upset (not predicting that, though).
I will… the Gophers by 4 pts. That’s just the way the B10 has gone this year.

For sure. That steal at the end of Michigan game that he took all the way would have been flushed pre-injury.
Probably so, but he more than made up for that and the missed free throws, with the two steals in the last 30 sec of the game.
