Why was Reneau guarding Dickinson anyway?

Going to be interesting to see when the subs come in
No wholesale substitutions!

Starters need to play 30+ minutes each in this game.

Don't confuse people with the facts!
I was looking at the teams that took the least 3 point shots to this point, and boy, it's loaded with crappy coaches like Mick Cronin, Jamie, Dixon, Tony Bennett...Hell, even Kansas is ranked 336th in 3s taken...Self don't know anything!
I understand your point, and it has merit, but I can’t imagine an elite guard being excited about playing in our current offense. I hope I’m wrong and we land one in the portal to compliment McNeely next year.

Didn't like the sounds of Coach when he said he doesn't know when Xavier is going to be back. That sounds like something along the lines of another few weeks.
I’ll be a tall task tomorrow without a healthy XJ…thought he would be back by now, but obviously it’s worse than most thought, and may be more than a sprain. Just hope we can keep it close to give ourselves a chance for the upset.

Nothing against XJ, but let’s hope not…time for some new leadership.

I will say that I won’t be surprised if we pull out a win and our problems will still persist for the next few weeks.
Although we can’t guarantee the team will show up with the intensity they need on any given night, you can almost guarantee that the fans will show up with the intensity this team can feed off of. Assembly Hall has a way of willing these guys to hustle and play hard defense.
I give us a 40% chance to win. And there’s also no doubt that Gallo plays much better at home - so he is my pick to click.
I like your optimism.

Kind of like AL hiring a former MI coach prior to their football game with MI?
Saban is ruthless.

I did the same thing after IU played Harvard with Malik Mack. That’s just the reality of college bball these days though. Good mid/low major players are going to be recruiting targets of high major programs. Those types of players are less risky than freshman who may or may not be ready for college ball.
So many really good players at the mid-major level that nobody outside their respective conferences has ever heard about. Has anyone on this board ever heard of Cardet Jr. before watching that game last night?

He had declared for the draft this year, but then withdrew his name. Currently projected as a second round pick. Could a year at a P5 school move him into the first round? He's from Florida. Would he go to a FL school for a year, or stay in the Midwest?
Who knows, but he’d certainly be on my wishlist if he hits the portal.

No doubt. Overall, CS was much quicker and more athletic. CS had 13 steals
Cardet Jr’s the type of player we need at guard. Duke couldn’t stop him and at any level. He could create, shoot and drive. He was good defensively too…just a superior athlete with skills.

Obviously losing is worse.
Is it actually comforting to anyone that we can hang our hats on “at least we aren’t Northwestern”?
Wasn’t comparing us to NW, just being a little sarcastic. 😊

Chicago St’s Cardet Jr (6’6” G) was by far the best player on the floor.
-
Which is worse…losing by 28 to Auburn on a neutral court or losing by 2 to Chicago St on your home court?

Xavier Johnson didn't make any bad plays the whole game.
Yeah, but how many good ones did he make?

#15 Miami gets smoked by unranked Colorado 90-63…almost as bad our loss to Auburn.

The 3-point defense doesn't need to be jinxed to be not good.
You have a point.

Is IU's defense what Timberlake needs to have a breakout game?
Don’t jinx us! 😲

Although, I didn’t expect we’d give up 104 pts and lose by 28 (who did) going into this 4 game stretch, I was hoping for 2-2, so if we can somehow beat Kansas on Saturday, I’ll be a happy man.

A win here would certainly be a huge piece of the puzzle. It gives us a little more margin for error in B1G play where it doesn’t feel like we HAVE to win every big game.
I don’t care what ESPN or anyone else says, when the Hall is rocking, which it will be Saturday, it’s the best home court in the NCAA. Period. We need to take full advantage of that and win this thing.
Anything’s possible

Didn’t see the game, but going on stats alone I went with Cupps.

Auburn played their best game of the year and Indiana played their worst. Auburn hit 8 more threes, had 9 less turnovers and 11 more assists. Their guard play was many classes better than ours today.
Overall, we did a terrific job keeping their star Broome to only 2 points. Rebounding was even today which is a plus because that was a concern earlier in the year. Fouls were similar for both team and Indiana attempted 6 more free throws.
We can't win when another team hit 8 more threes and we lose 9 more possessions to turnovers.
Well, at least it wasn’t all bad. Just don’t understand how we could possibly give up over a 100 pts to anybody.

I know, but my point was why? Where’s Sparks? Let him pound away on Dickinson when Ware’s out.
