What former Major Leaguer from Indiana, when in the Little League World Series, took just five swings at the ball in three games.... each one good for a homer on the first pitch. And was intentionally walked the other five times he came to the plate ?
Hint, he is from NWI, and played for Valpo University, before going into the majors.

Yeah. I just looked it up. Was trying to think of famous pitchers from Indiana and Brown was the first one that popped into my head. I won't spoil it for others though.

Let's try this one.....
What former major league pitcher, that at one time, had the most K's in a WS game(14) and now has a school named after him in Indiana?
Mordecei 'Three Finger" Brown

I am full of useless trivia too. Though not so much sports trivia but all kinds of useless subjects.
Stuff like, who originally had Buddy Hollys' seat on the plane that crashed and killed him the Big Bopper and Richie Valens? Also who played Ritchie Valens in the movie La Bamba?
Waylon Jennings?

Isn't it probably due to him losing his Father.
I had not heard that eithet. Definitely explains it, just not sure why the Raps just would not say so. A legit reason for sure. No need to be mysterious about it.

Hoopster. Any clue on the issue that kept OG away from the Rsptors for several days. The say its 'personal' but does that mean family stuff or is their some kind of disagreement with the team?

Vonleh all the way!

Assume that Vic and the Pacers have the night off. But, every other former Hoosier is in action and, miraculously, all are on TV. Who are you watching and why?
OG Anunoby - Raptors
Thomas Bryant - Wizerds
Yogi Ferrell - Kings
Eric Gordon - Rockets
Noah Vonleh - Knicks
Troy Williams - Pelicans
Cody Zeller - Hornets
Before this year, it was an easy choice for me, because I liked watching teh Mavs play and the way Yogi fit on that team. Now that he moved to Sacramento, I just can't mentally get excited about the Kings. I don't enjoy watching the Rockets either, so Gordon, would be the natural second choice would not be it either.
With the coaching change in Charlotte, I'm hoping Cody has an expanded role, so I'm going with Cody and the Hornets. If Charlotte ends up being the same old Charlotte, then it will likely end up being OG and the Raptors.

After a group discussion (excluding kev) we have unanimously voted to hijack his thread and convert this to an all-encompassing NBA thread. Carry on.
Was Kev out stalking the team?

I don't speak for the other mods on this one, but fwiw (not a lot) I agree with you. I think the NBA thread got moved to the Animal House because it's not IU-related and we're almost to the season. Generally, we like seeing the Animal House be an active forum and that might've played a part. We mods will talk about the NBA thread given these comments. It may stay where it is, but we'll talk about it --
Dump the NBA thread alltogether and have all NBA talk here.

I prefer one NBA thread and I prefer it be on the basketball page. So do my 9 exes and my 4 girlfriends. That's 14 votes right there.
Seriously, it makes no sense to talk about Victor Oladipo in one thread and Myles Turner in a different one.

^^ EJ comes in at #42 in espn's ranking -- http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/24666339/nbarank-2018-19-31-50-best-players-season
Pacers' Turner in at #48.
Some pretty bad rankings by espn, e.g., they've got Steven Adams at #47 (too low) and actually have Drummond at #46 -- NO ONE is taking Drummond over Adams, no way in hell Drummond is a better player, these rankings are largely just for fun, but man do the guys at espn get it wrong, and often.
Some more interesting rankings -- Hayward at #40, DeRozan at #39
Steven Adams gets penalized for lack of personal hygiene.

A lot of positive discussion on Cody in this article, including some from the new Charlotte head coach.

G Rob is a good player, he's been injured. He's shown the "flashes" of being really solid. McD is complete crap on D. He can definitely shoot, but come on now, exactly what has McDermott done that makes you salivate? Btw, in his NBA career, playing on 4 teams, he's started a total 13 games. People had pretty high expectations and regard for G Rob, whose career 3P% is almost identical, 39.3 to McDermott's 39.8, and 2P% is better, .481 to .476.
Holiday is a rookie, and that's all I said, he's unproven, which, obviously, he is. I don't think Young "sucks," but sure, things look promising with Holiday, towards the end of the first round, and looks like a steal in the draft.
'Good' players that are injured all the time have very little value if they can't get on the floor.

Edit. I'm 5 hours behind DJ reporting Vonleh to the Knicks.

I fear Yogi will regret this move.

New Orleans would be a good landing spot. Cleveland, maybe, they are rebuilding for the future and do have a couple of good young pieces. Sacto, well, hmm, but playing time and money should be there.
Definitely New Orleans from that trio.

I like Dallas. Dirk, Cuban, the whole situation.
Sacremento? A wasteland of a franchise. Years away from contending. Hate to see Yogi go there.
-
Risky move on Yogi's part. Hope he has a solid offer from another team. The Mavs have been good to him over the last two years even if their offer here wa a little light.
