PG with 47 points, 15-27, 15 boards, and the game winner @ Nets
Pacers got fleeced. Oladipo can't stay healthy and Sabonis is a bench player. Pritchard should be fired.

As we heap praise on the Pacers for winning without Vic, let's keep in mind that the Jazz did not have Donovan Mitchell either. He is probably as, or even more, key to their success as Vic is to the Pacers.

Yogi's decision to leave Dallas is looking worse and worse. He's gone from 30 minutes a night to becoming a regular 'DNP-Coaches Decision'. A lot of his success in Dallas was being in a perfect system fit. Unless you are a superstar, and they are going to build the team around you, you should never, ever give that up. It happens to players with more talent than Yogi. Just look no further than Vic.

So, I take it the Pacers got beat? Dang, I was watching Star Trek.
Anyone watching the game was exposed to 'The Next Generation' of 'Star' treatment in the NBA.

I was there too, as did I have a good view as well. Yes the pacers missed 10 free throws, that hurt them more than 3 phantom calls(just so happened to be when Harden had the ball in his hands) that went against the Pacers. James Harden goes in for a fast break layup on a steal, Vic contests the layup and as he jumps he jumps in the air away from Harden who misses a point blank layup and a foul is called after the ball hits the floor. Cannot tell me that was a foul. I will argue all day that the three refs last night kept the game close BUT they did miss 10 free throws to Houston's 1 missed free throw.
The foul called on the drive was a bad call, but it does not hold a candle to the foul they called when Vic contested Harden on the jumper at the free throw line. Harden landed fine, and then when he saw the shot did not go in, he flopped to the ground and the refs blew the whistle. It would have been comical if it had not been such a key play in a tight game.

I will admit I didn’t get to watch the game tonight. But going off of the reaction on here to all the playoff games I watched last season (and my experiences with Pacers fans generally), I’m going to assume it wasn’t nearly as bad as it’s being portrayed, lol.
There is not doubt that if Indiana made their free throws, the outcome would have been different. That said, there were two totally phantom calls on Vic against Harden that netted the Rockets 4 points (one was as a blatant a flop as I've seen in the last couple of years).

Only a Cers fan can gripe about the refs with a straight face after shooting twice as many FTs as the other team. 😂
I'm going to assume you did not watch the game. It was blatant.

Horrible officiating. You would have thought the Rockets were the home team.

So, Vic hit another game winning three. Big deal. Paul George would have hit a 5 point shot if the Thunder were down by 4.

I think the West is already something like plus 10 on the East in the standings. That said, I think the East could make a case for having 3 of the top 4 teams in the league.
-
Just for kicks, I had Paul George shoot 24 threes in a NBA2K game. He made 2 of them.

Yogi with only 12 minutes tonight. Did not get off tench in the second half. Troy played 12 minutes as well, and did get in for a few second half minutes.

Does not sound good. Pacers may actually regret letting Lance go.

Yogi with a goose egg last night in only 11 minutes. Things not going well for him so far in Sacremento.

Giannis is good.

Great idea for a thread Blue. I'll be on the lookout for stories to contribute.
One 'feel good' story off the top of my head is seeing you post regularly again.

If I'm the owner of the Lakers, Rajon Rondo is not on my team any longer. No place in sports for crap like that. If I'm Chris Paul, I'm probably going after him before the opening tip the next the Rockets play the Lakers.

He’s going to get there imo, but let’s see, POP - built the Spurs, 5 NBA titles - Stevens 0
Stevens has certainly not achieved what Pop has. But, Pop's not winning another championship anytime soon. From a historical perspective, Pop will probably always rank ahead of Stevens. But,. for strictly looking at the here and now, in 2018, you can make the case for Stevens.

What's this talk about the G league now offering $125k to HS players to forgoe college?
I wouldn't mind that.

Good solid team as always but also as always never a serious threat to win anything. Been that way for like 30 years.
With this team, I'm okay with that. Would rather have a good team I enjoy than a championship team full of players I can't stand.
