Guys, we have a great source of this type of information in this pinned thread on this board. Based on this info, the 2 speeches will be coming from the following pool of 6 players Race, Rob, Kopp, Stewart, XJ, and Durr.

I’m thinking a high % for Kopp and RP (kid has taken a beating in his career) making speeches. 50/50 on RT and PS. Only 25% on XJ. I would only be extremely disappointed about one of those first four leaving.
I think RP may feel he still has something to prove. He's not going to go pro in any form, so why not take advantage of the opportunity. I do agree that I think XJ is likely to come back.
Not related to your post, but some of the others. TJD is not a senior, and thus should not give a speech. I don't think guys like Oladipo gave one, did they?

Will their be Sr night speeches and if so, any idea of by whom?
Wondering the same. Got a gut feeling we will get one from Race. Hope not, but I think we will. X and Kopp? Maybe less likely? I think Rob comes back.

Personally, I'm glad individual posters in the fan base react differently. Makes for good conversation. Some just need to work a little on not making it personal.

@bluegrassIU @KDB @HoosierFaithful @BGleas @Inequality Can one of you unpin the 2021 thread and pin this one?
Thanks in advance.

I thought both he and Benetti we're praying at the end of last night's game for IU to lose...
But, maybe I'm just sensitive...that's my hook...my sensitivity 😁
Minnesota scored 34 points in 8 minutes. If Minnny would have completed the comeback, it would have been the greatest in college basketball history. Dont blame the announcers at all for getting into the moment.
Hummel is very good. My favorite announcer going right now.

It was 70-45:with exactly 8 minutes left. So, in that 8 minute window, IU scored 14 points., It's not like we went 5 minutes without a point. 14 points in 8 minutes is actually a 70 point pace over 40 minutes.
What almost resulted in this being a historic comeback is that Minnesota scored 34 in those same 8 minutes. That's a 40 minute pace of 170. That's almost unfathonable.
Did we really almost collapse, or were we in the middle of a cosmic event?

Was my wife’s birthday last night, so we were out at dinner, but I taped the game AND am actually going to be able to watch it tonight. Haven’t read anything in depth about it, but sounds like it was a wild one. Always less stressful when you know the outcome though!
Back in 1993, IU was playing a key game against Michigan the same night as Wife #3's birthday. I gave her $20, a Red Lobster coupon, and let her know I would be available after the game if she wanted to celebrate both her birthday and an IU win.,
She never came home.

didn't we think that about playing vs Purdouche and the General's return?
Yes. We did. I'm hoping the new coaching staff can help overcome whatever failed us that time.

If our players cant be ready to bring it on Senior night in what amounts to a NCAA play-in game, then I'm not sure when they ever would be.

We led WI 42-20 in first half and were outscored 44-17 rest of game
Need to check your math. By your calculations, we only scored 59 points.

I still remember listening to that UK-LSU game on the radio. I was so pissed that UK won.
And, to think we almost let Minnesota do that in just about half the time.

Hmmm. I see a correlation between you watching and us falling apart.
Better not catch you watching any more games this year.

To put this in perspective, 30+ years ago, UK came back from 31 down with 15:30 left to beat LSU. People still talk about that game. We were up 27 with 8.01 on the clock and it became a 1 possession game. smh
Correction on the time left on clock for the UK game. Makes our almost collapse even more stunning.
The UK game I reference above was ranked as the #1 greatest comeback in sports history by USA Today. We almost saw history tonight.

I really don't know what Woody is thinking in these situations. Get the frigging posts out of there and open the floor up.
Pacers started 5 guards today, I believe. Maybe 1 small forward in bunch. And, they beat the Celtics.

XJ is so much better than Green, it's not even funny. Fist, XJ is a true point guard who actually gets assists. XJ is a much better defender. And, as erratic as his shot selection can be at times, it's still more selective than Green's. Truthfully, green's reputation was built on 3-4 games where he went bonkers. But, if memory serves me right, we lost most of those games.
On target XJ wins IU ballgames. On target Devonte was a bright spot on an otherwise dark night most of the time.
If XJ comes back, he's a candidate for All Big Ten next season.
