IA ST has 9 Quad 1 wins (9-7 in Q1 games). In all of CBB, only Baylor and Kansas have more. IU is 3-6 in Q1 games.
Maybe. But, Houston is 0-3 in Quad 1 games and is 4th in the NET. Quad wins obviously do not mean what they are hyped to mean.

I have no clue. But, the NBA isn't always the only goal. Big money in Europe if they want it.
Might be best to avoid countries bordering Russia though.

LOL. Love the profile picture.

Ja Morant played college at Murray State. Just goes to show you can't always rely on recruiting rankings. Hoosier Nation would have been beside itself had we recruited a 'mid-major' talent.

You think he would be more or less likely to come back if TJD leaves?
More likely. It makes him the primary inside scoring threat and opens the offense up.
I honestly think Race has a brighter future in the pros than Trayce does.

Whether Trayce stays or goes could ultimately have a bearing in Race's decision. But, I'm not sure he'll have the luxury to wait around to see if that happens.

He'd be stupid to grad transfer. If he isn't playing at Indiana next season he should be starting his career path or playing overseas.
Outside of just being a true Gopher fan, I don't see any sort of reason he'd want to play somewhere else.
Stupid is not the word I would have used. I will never judge a player for wanting the opportunity to play for the team he grew up following. Would he be better off financially starting a pro career? Absolutely. But, I doubt his family situation would suffer significantly if he put that off for a year.
Counting his redshirt year, he's already given 5 to IU. I would hold no ill will towards him at all if he chose to transfer back home. Now, if he chose a different Big Ten school, yeah that would bother me a bit.

I will say this about race. He is one of my favorite IU players over the last 10 years or so. Maybe second only to Yogi.

I would certainly think Race is a guy that we would find a spot for if he wants to be back.
Absolutely, but the talk of NIL making a difference is probably mute. He can grad transfer to Minnesota and still take advantage of NIL. Might even be the #1 NIL option for the Gophers. They could get him and his dad to do something together.

I would love XJ and Rob back, and at least one of TJD or Race. Beyond that it is gravy from the "obvious" people who could leave IMO.
You may not have seen the post above, but, per Inside The Hall, Race and Stewart are confirmed to be the two giving speeches. So, Race isn't coming back.

To clarify, Woodson said two players are giving speeches but they still have to make decisions about if it is their last home game.
So we really can't read much at all into who is back next year based on who gives speeches tomorrow night.
I agree with one exception. I don't think Rob passes up a Senior night speech unless he's fairly sure he's coming back. The other 3 are transfers, and it might not mean as much to them if they are unsure. For, Rob, I think it does. XJ is the key though. For IU to be as good as it can be next season, we need him to come back.

Parker and Race will be leaving after this year
Yep. The two most likely candidates. Definitely appears that Rob has thoughts of coming back, which makes me happy.

I think Race and Durr are the most likely of the group to return
I think X is the most likely to return. With the way he is playing now, he stands to gain a lot by coming back. And, I have to think the staff would feel a whole lot better with having him back than relying on a freshman PG, no matter how highly rated.

I was thinking Stewart, simply because he's like 23, has been through a lot, and at times looks unhappy. He's also been sat down twice...and I think he's already got 2 masters degrees...
Kopp was just a WAG...
I don't see Stewart coming back. Now, as to whether he gives a speech or not may have to do with how Woodson determines the criteria for giving a speech. If it's just Rob and Race giving a speech, I have to feel he limited speeches to non-transfers.

I need to go there this year. I wish i had gone before they screwed it all up and built that new stadium there
Same thoughts on the new stadium. The pure experience would have been just as it was in the movie.

I think i might have asked you before but are you close to Dyar Iowa! We plan on going to see The Field of Dreams this summer
That trip has been on my bucket list for years. I've put it off and now my son is graduating high school this year. I need to get that done before he has a life of his own.

Actually, technically.... TJD is probably a SR.
You're speaking academically, I assume?
Regardless, IU has never done what other schools have and had players with less than 4 years athletically in the book give senior speeches. Could that change? Sure. New coaching staff and administration.
I'm sticking with my belief that Rob does not give one and wants to come back. If it does end up being Race and Rob, they will not be the only 2 of the 6 who arent back next year.
Maybe the opportunity to speak was not given to the single year transfers. I hope that is not the case.

You shouldn't be. It's actually a very difficult burden to bear. Growing up, all I ever wanted was to be like the 'normal' kids.

Per Lunardi, we need to root against BYU, San Diego State, SMU & Oregon. Those are the first four out.
At least for this week, I think rooting against Rutgers and Purdue is an even better strategy.

I'm a Reds fan, but even I would be willing to give up the traditional 'home opener' for starting on the road in warmer weather. Heck, they truly have not been the MLB opener for the last 20+ years anyway.
The following teams should always start the season at home through the first week
- Milwaukee (Retractable Roof)
- Arizona (Warm and Retractable)
- LA Angels (Weather)
- L.A. Dodgers (Weather)
- Texas (Weather and Retractable)
- Miami (Weather and Retractable)
- Houston (Weather and Retractable)
- Oakland (Weather)
- San Francisco (Weather)
- San Diego (Weather)
- Blue jays (Retractable)
- Mariners (Retractable)
- Rays (Dome)
- Braves (Weather)
That's 14, and you need 15 for a full slate of games. Expansion or new stadium in old location could fix the shortage of natural candidates, or you can just give the final spot to Cincinnati until a better option is available.

It will never happen, but they could chop a week off the calendar at the start of the season to alleviate some of the weather issues by simply scheduling 7-8 Sunday doubleheaders a year like they used to do.

Heck, the Bengals beat the Chiefs twice in a five-week span, including once at Arrowhead, and the Chiefs will still go into next season with better odds to win the AFC.
