Just looked at the NET.  Regardless of how these last two tournaments play out, there are 27 at large teams with a NET greater than IU.  If that is a major factor in the decision, we should not be in the First Four.

I honestly don't know how many at-larges there are any more.  I'm thinking 33 or 34?

Looks like 32 auto-bids, which means 36 at-large.   We are 28th in NET among that group.  Funny math going on if we fall into First Four.

Don't like the Gray trade, got the Twins top pick from last year. Probably be 4 years before he reached the majors if he does at all.

It's the ultimate statement that they are not going to try to compete the next 2-3 years.

I agree. I had Davidson as an 11 prior to their game today. Not moving them.

Richmond's win moves either Michigan, Rutgers, Wyoming, or Notre Dame out of my bracket.

Who would you all move out of those 4?

If the committee looks at it as which of the 4 is least likely to make a run, it has to be Wyoming or Notre Dame.  Michigan and Rutgers are both capable of making the Sweet 16.

Since Virginia Tech ended up being a bid stealer, I personally would probably punish the ACC and leave Notre Dame out.  That said, if it is these 4 in play for the real committee, I think Wyoming is left out.  the name 'Notre Dame' means something as far as national exposure.

I do my own bracketology for fun.

I have us as the top 11 seed currently.

Davidson will stay in for me as an 11 most likely.

The committee is not going to move Davidson at all.  Too late for that.  They stay where they were at.  Richmond bumps one team to the play-in game and that team bumps a team that was slotted for play-in out of the bracket.

Could IU move up a seed line over Davidson?

I bet Davidson does not move.  I think they were probably seeded 10 and will remain there.  What Richmond winning does is move Richmond in as an 11 or 12.  They can't be in the play-in, so we could see 4 12's in the play-in or 2 12's and 2 11's in the play-in.

  7. The First Four is nothing to be ashamed of.  IU fans need to step back and be thankful we won against Illinois.  Otherwise, the Texas A&M and VaTech runs may have resulted in us not getting in at all.

We were 9-11 in on conference and played a terrible non-conference slate.

Are we playing like a top 25 team?  Yes.  But, that is not what gets you in the tournament.  We're going to get in.  Be happy whether it's Dayton or not.

We're not going to be playing in Dayton...right? Ugh

    Highly unlikely

We need to root against Virginia Tech and Texas A&M.  If those two win conference championships, I think we're in Dayton.  If they don't, they will both likely be in Dayton, making it less likely we are.

  9. 3 major take-aways for me

    • They outscored us by 27 from the 3-point line.  We have to address shooters this offseason
    • We win the game if Geronimo would have been able to play
    • Fran should have got a T when he got in our huddle.  Now, a Bohannon 3 would have still won it even if we hit both T-shots.  But, the game may have played out entirely differently.
