Any electricians or handy men on here?  I was unscrewing a burned out light bulb in the kitchen and heard small pop or sizzle and now the 2 light fixtures in our kitchen won't come on at all, along with the overhead light in the nearby hallway and half bathroom.  Everything else in the house works fine.  I've flipped all the breakers on the panel but no luck.  Suggestions?

It would be odd, but not unheard of….is there a separate ground fault receptacle on the circuit somewhere? Code doesn’t require it for lights in a kitchen (outlets, yes) but it wouldn’t be the craziest thing if there was one.

If no….do you own a circuit tester or multimeter?

Different than others, my favorite memories are from Crean’s first team. To watch a group of guys who had no business wearing the candy stripes play their hearts out. To see them win a few games, even a conference game… confirmed for me that wearing a Hoosier uniform was a privilege. I know that the results were horrible, but those guys are my all time favorite team

Quoting this, so it’s not overlooked. Really something to consider. Nicely written.

With the cost of construction materials now a days, the sales price of existing has become almost ludicrous! My son moved from Streamwood Il last year. He had 5 offers on his townhouse all way over the asking price! In fact the appraiser Who needs to catch up didn’t approve that much over! So the top offer didn’t go through because they didn’t have the cash for the difference the bank wouldn’t approve. When my son made an offer for a house in Adrian MI he missed on the first house, he scored on the second home in the same neighborhood because he understood the premium, which again was significantly higher than the asking price. My daughter recently got her realtor license out in CA. So far she has only sold 1 home. It went for $50,000 over asking price!

Real Estate is crazy right now, and I think it’s only going to get worse!

I sold my previous home in September 2020. It was on the market for less than 18 hours and we received an above ask offer from a cash buyer.

Within two hours, we had 7 showings scheduled, and the offer we received was from the first showing.

My brother and next door neighbors are realtors. There are certainly good ones and bad ones. Maybe the realtor did their research before the last sale was published? Maybe the new seller wants to sell quick and / or that house isn't in the best shape.... Real estate has always been and will always be a rather inefficient market, IMO.

This would be my guess. Condition of the home Or speed of sale.

I posted the scoring averages from every year in the NBA and the average score this year is not much higher if at all.

All I was doing was showing you the theory behind it. I’m not trying to say it’s the most effective or fun to watch, but it’s not just some cockamamie idea someone pulled out of their sphincter. There is actually some statistical backing.

Most teams don't come close to hitting 40 percent from 3.  I just take the 87 championship team and look at their scores in the tournament.  They scored 94, 107, 88, 77, 97 and 74 and the most 3's they hit in a game was 7. Alford hit all of the teams 3's but one of them in the tournament.

The theory holds for the NBA, not college. It’s probably not the best offense for college, but college mimics the NBA.

Teams today shoots more 3's and layups yet score less points

Here’s the math behind that. Just for round numbers, let’s say a team gets 100 possessions per game. If a team averaged 40% shooting from 3 and shot nothing but 3s, they’d average 120 points per game. To do the same using all 2 point shots, they’d need to average 60% shooting, and as that stat showed, only 7 players in the league averaged 50%. Shooting 50% from 2, you’d need 120 possessions per game to equal the output shooting nothing but 3s.

That’s why teams either shoot the 3, or an extremely high percentage 2.

And that’s now on my list. Had read quotes from Elia but didn’t know they had live audio of him. That’s like Field Of Dreams meets The Wolf Of Wall Street. 🤣

  9. Grew up on the “other” side of the Wabash, but still within the core fan zone. I wasn’t a hardcore IU fan growing up, but I do remember the early 90s teams. Became a true fan when I transferred there in the fall of 2003….and yeah, those were some dark times. My two years in B-town were the two years Davis missed the tournament, and they were the last two of the DiNardo era in football. But at least we had two national soccer titles!

Memorable moments that I remember firsthand: The 2002 FF run, Killingsworth’s tomahawk jam vs Duke (was there), Mo Creek’s performance against UK as a freshman (what if…), the WatShot, the 2016 B10 title run.

Looks like USC is tampering with a WR at Putt. DD said they are offering him 3 mil and a house. If this is true then this isn't what the NIL I'd supposed to be about.

I have no problem with the NIL but like I said it is going to be buying players and not name, image and likeness

Isn't that what Penny asked for in Blue Chips? I think Dak may be going senile.

As I've said before, though, this is more about social media and branding.

A point that can't be understated.  Let's face it.....90% of this board is "old".  I don't have a damn clue who some of these "celebrities/influencers" are.  I also don't know the fluctuation and arbitrage risk of the Romanian leu vs the US Dollar.  Doesn't mean there isn't money to be made on both though.

We demand a league of 55+ out of shape guys playing slow half-court, but we will be paid the same as the NBA, even though we'll have no ratings, fans in the stands, or marketable brand.

That's ageism.  I may only be 40, but I'm out of shape and can play bad, slow half-court with the worst of them!
