We will always be a blue blood; we aren’t currently an elite program, though.

Also, I don’t give a flying f*** what Kentucky fans think about IU. We beat them 2 out of the last three times those cowards were forced to play us.

And in the one we lost, it was the only time that season that Kayuts team gave up 90 or more points.

Fly into Sikeston MO, call Lamberts restaurant and they will send a driver to come get you, walk you in the back door, have a saved table for you and then they will throw hot rolls at you while you're there.

I was curious and sure enough, Sikeston actually has an airport.  Their runways are so small that larger species of hawks and eagles couldn't land on them and instead of metal detectors and x-ray scanners, their security consists of a dude in bib overalls carrying a sawed off shotgun who will look at you menacingly and say "Yew don't look like yew's from 'round here".

I also liked the Wikipedia description of the airport:

    Quote

Sikeston Memorial Municipal Airport is a city-owned, public-use airport located two nautical miles northeast of the central business district of Sikeston, in Scott County, Missouri, United States.

Which two blocks make up Sikeston's central business district?

Or my son used to tell of going thru the contractors entrance at Ohare. Said he would take a knife with him and tell security he needed it to scrape paint samples.

I’m pretty sure you could get a 55 gallon drum of manure and a 500 foot loop of detonation cord through the employee security at an airport.

Drop down, pull up, drop in advertising that moves the screen right as you touch causing you to open something you REALLY didn’t want to!

I remember when I did have precheck a couple times I went through regular security because the precheck line was so much longer?

    Not uncommon in bigger airports.

Finally filling out brackets, and it's amazing how poor a job this committee did. The East has three teams I would have picked for the Final Four, all of them ranked in the top 5 on Torvik. Meanwhile Purdue gets an injured and down Kansas, Rick Barnes, and a Creighton team that lost four of its last five, getting blasted by Cincinnati.

Depends on when you might get Rick Barnes. 2nd round or S16, not such a good matchup. E8….well, Rick isn’t known for doing well in E8 games.

I know the government has my thumbprint from when I worked for the feds, but I have an aversion to willingly giving out my biometrics! Even though I know THEY already have them.🤷‍♂️

They already know who I am.  Might as well make my life a little bit less of a hassle.

That said, I don't do thumbprint or face recognition for phone locking.

Sounds like you might want to try getting TSA PreCheck.  Cuts down on waiting…but not old people.   Like me.  LOL.  😂

If you travel even semi-regularly, get PreCheck and Clear, if your local airport has it.  PreCheck is $80 for 5 years, which is kind of a no-brainer.  Clear is $120 per year, but allows you to skip the ID check before you separate out into the PreCheck/steerage lines.

Even at 4:30AM, security lines at CVG are 15 minutes.  By 5:45AM, minimum 30 minutes, more like 45 on a busy day.  With PreCheck/Clear, I'm through in probably 5-7 minutes each time.

It appears that way, since we can offer both and we still have 0 commits at this point.  But I understand your point, things will apparently plan to buy a team soon.

Tournament hasn't even started let alone in its 2nd week.  Game hasn't even started yet.

With Saban going on his soapbox yesterday crying about NIL stuff it got me thinking. Besides the potential revenue sharing ideas that have been floated....and maybe revenue sharing if the teams make the tourney,etc....what if the NCAA went the opposite to try and corral the portal. Offer some figure where if a kid stays years with same team, graduates they are eligible for some bonus? Have it jointly paid by school collectives and the billions the NCAA has in their warchest.

Now the amount has to be substantial enough to make them stay and maybe that would be a deterrent from kids job hopping.

Kind of like a retention bonus here in the "real" world.

I don't think there's any rule against putting that in an NIL deal.  You get paid X per year, but if you stay for two years, you get Y, three years and you get Z, etc etc.

I don’t want to sound like a giant @ss… but what exactly is so attractive that good players would want to come here next season? Money? Ok…playing time?

This is going to sound kind of jaded, but it's the reality of the times....do you need anything else besides money and playing time to attract a good player?

IU has always stunk at finding foreign born players.  Our"best" was Uwe Blab and the rest were Hanner Perea quality.

Heck, our only outstanding foreign guy was fictional - Ivan Renko. 🥸

How dare you besmirch the name of the iconic Tijan Jobe that way.

Are you SERIOUSLY telling me that I can no longer make Purdue cheerleader jokes!

My life will forever be diminished.

I gave mine up a few months ago….for now anyway. 😂

It's always good to complete the grid, yet frustrating when one square totals half your score.

Wonder if this one would have helped your score at all….Pirates/Twins player…Pat Mahomes.

Growing up Selection Sunday was a holiday for me and I tried to pass that on to my kids. . My 2 oldest kids are 28 and 24 and for them I treated it the same way. We used to love to have our brackets ready to fill out and had so much anticipation of seeing how far West they were sending our Hoosiers. Its been a long time since we have done that just because IU is irrelevant in college basketball when it comes tournament time. I hate it so much. Instead of yesterday being a holiday I spent 10 hours painting the living room and hall ways of our house. Only looked to see if ISU made it and nothing else until today when i filled out a bracket. I miss the days of the excitement of Indiana basketball and being a homer and picking IU to win it every year. I have resigned to living the GLORY DAYS. Sucks to be an IU fan.

This is just one of those things that available information has evolved out of being. Rather than waiting by the TV and trying to frantically write down every matchup, you can just print out a full bracket at 6:30. Not saying it’s good or bad, it just is.

Nice work. I can tell the backer is wood and the letters are aluminum with standoffs, but what is the edging?

  16. If Purdue is going to make a run, I really hope it’s this year.

Am I subject to public floggings if I say I kind of hope they do? I swear I’m not making the following up…..I’m….ummmm….kind of dating a Purdue cheerleader. No, not former…current. Yeah, I wouldn’t believe me either, but that’s a whole separate topic. 🤣

IU wasn’t worth a damn since December anyway and if they’re ever going to make a run….might as well be her senior year.

Math dorks. NET and analytics were put together by nerds who probably never even learned how to dribble.

The internet has allowed losers to become professionals at things that used to be daily life.

You do realize that out of two of the godfathers of modern sports analytics, one is an IU alum and lived in B-town quite a while after graduating (Jeff Sagarin), and the other was an IU professor for 25+ years (Wayne Winston)?

Why do all of the men in old west movies, have on a suit coat, a vest, bow tie, clean shirt, .....

It's 150 yrs later, I'm wearing the same $6 shorts for the last (almost) 2 weeks and a Bunkerbrand tee shirt.

I grew up expecting Suits and quicksand.... NOPE. couldn't give 2 phucks about either now.

I still have 4-5 tailored suits in the closet. I’ve worn 2 of them once since COVID though.
