It’s just fun to see basketball fans in Indiana be excited. I loved the women’s run in the tourney, as well as Indiana State’s run in the NIT.

i may feel differently as the game goes on. No promises on maintaining this cheerful excitement 😂😂

My consolation prize is that at least my gf will be in a good mood when she gets back.  And as the modern-day philosopher Terry Bradshaw once said, "If mama ain't happy...ain't nobody happy".

Well crap just yesterday things were looking good for cloud cover but now it seems just before things start all the way through to just after the clouds are supposed to move in. Going to be clear after. Instead of driving an hour for totality I think I’ll just stay home and hope for 99%

I'm doing the same thing. My office will get something like 99.4% totality.  Close enough.

The bag men and runners are still very much in play. All of those AAU coaches and promoters, the family members and FRIENDS are still looking for their cut! Also as Armondo points out in his tax service commercial NIL is taxable!

Well, technically the under the table payments are taxable also.  They weren't illegal payments, just against NCAA rules.

Saw it when it first happened and was like when is MLB just going to put this guy out of his misery. At some point a player is just going to lose it and do something in the moment.

I think it's like his 3rd or 4th major screw up already this year and only a week in.

Angel Hernandez has been an umpire since Bush Sr was in office.  Think about that for a minute.

It's a shame this even has to be posted.

Take all the warning labels away, and let nature run its course. In 2 generations the country would be a lot smarter.

I just want to see what people start doing if they removed the "Do not take internally" warning off the tubes of Preparation H.  :coffee:

Not when he got the contact they didn’t want to be rid of him. Why sign him at all if that was the case. It was one sided contract….thats malpractice.

    He’s hedging his bets.

Scenario 1: They don’t give him the extension, he leaves and succeeds somewhere else. Barnyard looks like an ass.

Scenario 2: If he fires Cal, they pay the huge buyout, then hire a new coach after likely paying their buyout. If the new coach underperforms and/or Cal goes somewhere else, Barnyard really looks like an ass.

Scenario 3, which is what happened: Someone else takes your problem off your hands. The new coach is likely to going to get less than what Cal was making initially, which means they’ll make up the difference in not having a buyout in a few years, especially since they’re not having to pay to fire Cal.

He’s taking a slight loss to avoid the major loss of having to pay to buy Cal out, then pay another coach’s buyout.

And I just noticed my phone autocorrected “Barnhart” to “Barnyard”, but I’m leaving it. It’s UK, so it kind of fits.

Because it’s protection from someone stealing him and gives you compensation to go after his replacement.

Why do you need protection when you halfway want to get rid of him anyway?

Rather than fire him and be on the hook for $30M, now you can go after another coach free and clear. Even if you have to pay $25M of another coach’s buyout, you’re still $5M ahead of where you were.

Wow…what was Barnhart thinking…like 10 million a year and huge buyout to be rid of him but no protections for UK? Wow

He’s daring another school to take Cal off of his hands, and now he doesn’t bear the risk of firing him and watching him succeed somewhere else.
