It's not official from the NCAA and the staff hasn't gotten anything official from the NCAA. Those are facts.

I think XJ is coming back and so does the staff. That said until it is in writing it's not a guarantee and players that only have 1 year want a guarantee. Not an "I think" when it comes to the PG position and until it is in writing all the staff can sell to recruits is "I think".

Ware has more than 1 year left and IU was able to land him thanks to Coach Ya and his connections. Guys that only have 1 year and don't have the ball the majority of the time want to know who is going to be running the offense. I'm not saying it's the deciding factor but it is something they think about.

I'm convinced that Woodson has told people to stop talking. There isn't much info getting out and several people that typically get info have gone radio silent.

I do believe that the X situation is a real factor. Guys want to know who the PG is going to be and guys like Ledlum and Knecht who only have 1 year left don't want to have to rely on an unproven freshman running the point.

Catchings is still committed to Purdue. Could he decommit at some point of course but he hasn’t yet. He is still a Purdue commit at this time.

First live evaluation period started yesterday. Ya and Kenya were in Atlanta while Hulls and Walsh were in Iowa.

Im not sure who would be in the office tonight. Kenya, Ya, Walsh, and Hulls are all on the road.

I wouldn’t mind Frederick as a bench shooter. IU needs proven shooting and 3 more players. Not all 3 will start.

I think it’s a combination of assistant coaches recruiting in the areas they’re comfortable and Woodson just isn’t a grinder on the recruiting trail. IU is good at short recruitment’s and ones where they have a connection to the player or people close to the player.

People in Ware’s corner had connections to Ya. In recruiting those types of connections have been what’s carried recruiting under Woodson. IU hasn’t done well in recruitments they don’t have those connections which is what I meant by starting from scratch.

Cupps can contribute but he won’t make that big of an impact. As for Ware IU got Ware because of prior connections he had to people that new Coach Ya.

IU does well with recruitments where they have some kind of prior relationship. They seem to struggle with building relationships from scratch on the recruiting trail for various reasons and then winning those recruitments. This is where other schools seem to find a way to beat IU on the recruiting trail.

Ledlum was a good option but I don’t think he was going to be some kind of star or anything. I think IU could be fine but they’ve got to get busy turning their attention to other options.

I’ve known this was coming for a few days but Zane Doughty from Ben Davis officially committed to Ball State today. Very nice pickup for Michael Lewis.

Catchings himself has had some second thoughts or wanted to make an independent decision while other people around him notably his mom and aunt want him at Purdue. We'll see if anything actually changes here.

I don't know how real the interest is right now.

Possibly El Ellis and Cormac Ryan other than that I'm not sure.
