  1. I think ARE could be what IU needs if he is in fact the next hire. He’ll be appealing to recruits being an offensive mind from the NFL. However he’s going to have to put an experienced staff around him.
  2. Possibly but it’s become pretty obvious he won’t be a 3. He’s a 4 in the NBA.
  3. I’m starting to think it won’t happen under Woodson.
  4. Mgbako isn’t being utilized well because of how Ware and Reneau are playing. He can’t guard guards well and he can’t get away from guards offensively. He’s a 4 but just can’t be used that way with this roster.
  5. If it’s a couple games that’s fine. If it’s an extended period of time it’s not going to work
  6. They can’t survive with just 3 guards. That isn’t realistic
  7. Cupps is IU’s only true PG and he will start if X is out.
  8. I knew he was hurt a few weeks ago but I didn’t realize he was still out.
  9. IU has to play another guard. Which one will he turn to if X misses time. Gunn will get more minutes but they can’t play with just Cupps, Trey, and Gunn.
  10. If X is out does Woodson turn to Leal, or does he go with one of the walk ons in Rayford or Creel? The first thought would be Leal being on scholarship however I’d go with whoever has the most PG skill.
  11. More than that many of the top portal guys are looking for serious $$$$$$$ because they aren't likely headed to the NBA so they want to cash in while in college.
  12. The problem with living in the portal is it's to volatile especially if Woodson doesn't expand his way of recruiting.
  13. True that said IU needs to worry about next years roster first. Then worry about 2 years from now. Robinson and Mallory are still almost 2 years out from wearing a college uniform. As for the portal there will be guys that can help fill holes but I’m not sure they will be able to land multiple difference makers and to me filling 5-6 spots all via the portal is RISKY.
  14. I don’t know that it’s that they aren’t interested. I think it’s more that they are trying to be patient and see what the options are looking like. I don’t think it has much to do with length.
  15. Fwiw Rabby keeps downplaying things with Davis. He has basically said Davis wants IU but he’s not sure if IU will really pursue him and that things still need to play out. He has said that IU could turn up the heat but he’s not sure if or when that will happen. Basically a lot of words to say who knows what will happen as time passes between now and the spring signing period.
  16. I'll be curious to see how MSU does against Butler on Friday. Butler appears to be much improved from last year. The are bigger, stronger, and have better shooting than they did last year. I'll be interested to see how MSU does. I think they'll win but you never know.
  17. I still believe that IU won't be at it's best offensively until Mgbako is playing the 4 with Cupps, X, Trey, and Ware. Reneau could also be the 5 in place of Ware as well. I just think that combination needs to be together at different parts of the game.
  18. To me I think Woodson has treated these first two games as extra exhibition games. They haven't ran much offensively and it honestly doesn't look like they've done much game prep for these first two opponents. I personally don't like that and I'm hoping the team looks better prepared moving forward. I also think he's just trying to get a lot of guys playing time to see who can play and who can't even if it means the lineup combinations aren't good and look awful together as a whole.
  19. Mgbako has been in the dog house ever since the Taco Bell incident. I expect Woodson will be using him more moving forward
  20. They were but some were because of how stagnant things are
  21. That’s a problem too but some of those are being caused by how bad the offense is that Woodson is running. The 58% from the field isn’t a good indication of the offense as a whole.
  22. The lack of any kind of offense that actually creates movement and open looks is puzzling to me.
  23. I think it’s something that should be looked at. Not saying it’s the answer to anything but he has more skills that translate to playing the 4 than Reneau. Reneau scores like TJD. He’s basically a second 5 with Ware on the floor.
