I think someone needs to check Woodson to see if he is clinically insane

I knew Woodson would start Sparks. He just can’t help himself

Ware is out with a sprained ankle. I wonder if Woodson will just slide Sparks in as a starter or if he’ll shake things up.

The administration didn’t ruin it by getting rid of Sampson. That needed to happen because of the culture he built around the program. However the administration did ruin things by pretty much everything thing they’ve done since they fired Sampson including the self appointed probation and all of that stupidity.

While I get what you’re saying about the 2 bigs there’s a problem with it. IU has to play Reneau and Ware or they can’t stay in a game with anyone. Now I do blame Woodson for limiting most of the roster to just one position for example he seems to only play MM as a 3. That said those two have to be on the floor.

IU doesn’t have guards that shoot it well. It’s just a sad reality that’s the fault of the coaches with who they’ve recruited. They can convince guys to come if they go all in on getting them.

To me the roster isn’t good enough. Scheme could make things a little better but not much. They lack guards/wings and that goes back to last year in the portal when Woodson didn’t feel the need to go get a guard that wasn’t a true upgrade in his opinion. What he didn’t think about was depth and it’s hitting the team now because of Newton being out with injury and X being X.

This isn’t accurate. IU was very focused on select individuals and backed off of many. They focused on Ware, Ledlum, and Knecht. They kicked the tires on some others but never went all in especially with the guards. They overvalued X and Galloway and that was a major mistake.

Maybe. Although I really like how he’s playing and think he’s a really good insurance policy for Myles. I personally think Jackson could be the odd man out.

I don’t think there will be a lot of consolidation but I could see one of Smith, Jackson, or Toppin moved with Buddy. Then I could see them adding a buyout vet for a playoff push. The top buyout candidate to me is Hayward if he gets bought out.

This season is frustrating but I fully expect IU to go all out in the portal this year. Woodson knows he needs to get this roster fixed and there will need to be several additions. He is running out of time to get this roster and program to were he wanted it before riding off into retirement.

Most of those people were probably on board with the hire at the time.

I expect the Pacers to possibly make a couple more moves. I could still see a Buddy trade since he’s on an expiring deal. I could see some roster consolidation happening as well. I could also see the Pacers picking up a vet wing in the buyout market depending on the trade returns.

Correct on Cupps. The lineup is efficient because he is a ball mover. The ball doesn't stick like it does with X. Cupps will be a good player in time but he is being asked to do a lot right now. Which sucks for the present but could very well pay off in the future.

Baring something crazy Woodson will be the coach for at least 1 more year. He will get the opportunity to change some things this offseason. After that Woodson will be on the clock because his time will be running out.

There’s guys every year that leave school even though they aren’t a guaranteed first round pick. It’s not smart but it happens all the time.

I don’t know what the situation was with him exactly but I believe his handlers are shooting for the moon.

I guess but I look at things from the perspective of what the staff is planning on because that’s the most likely outcome.

The plan is still to go pro and the staff is planning as if he will be gone. That could change of course depending on NBA feedback after the season but as of now that’s the plan. His progress is trending in the right direction for that as of late as well.

It had to do with his handler. Not his parents. IU is pretty much out on this one. I think the handler wanted more than IU was willing to guarantee.
