  1. I don’t think that’s accurate. He does want to expand his game to have some ability to play as a 3 in AAU this summer but he’s a P5 4 and I’m pretty sure everyone knows that.
  2. No. But he scored almost all of them
  3. Moreno has to be in the conversation with that group. There’s a good chance Sisley and Moreno will be visiting IU here soon too.
  4. I had a gut feeling he was going to hit a game winner the way the game was played out in the final 3 minutes and both OT’s.
  5. I had almost a front row seat to that shot. Mullins can play and is an IU lean but he’s not in a hurry to make a decision from what I heard tonight and a visit to IU in the near future is very likely.
  6. If by all you mean you then sure. I don't think everyone else does though.
  7. He might be but I'll care more about that in a couple years.
  8. It sounds like his baggage has to do with his dad wanting $$$$ and schools aren't wanting to pay.
  9. I don't put the blame on the players. I put the blame on the coach that constructed the roster that these players are on. I don't understand why so many long 2's are taken. I don't know if Woodson teaches that or just allows it but either why it is a problem. He doesn't do a lot to get guys open shots but again it's likely because he doesn't have guys that he feels comfortable running plays to get shots which again falls back on to how he constructed things in the first place.
  10. He wouldn't be the one to fix the guard play. That would need to be an impact transfer but Davis could help. That said it doesn't appear that Woodson is interested in him.
  11. I didn't say anything about banking on him. I just listed him as 1 of the 13 scholarships and will likely be the only true combo guard unless woodson targets another.
  12. I could care less if IU is recruiting an 8th grader lol. Woodson won’t even be there by the time he gets to college
  13. I’m of the belief that IU is in a really good spot with this recruitment.
  14. Agree that some things need to change. That said his scheme has been based on his best players. Last year the 2 best players were TJD and JHS so he used more ball screen actions for those 2. This year the guard play is awful other than Galloway getting down hill and Mgbako spotting up so he's gone with a lot more 2 post actions. I don't like it but that's a product of the roster construction. The defense is a whole different issue.
  15. This is just about the only roster scenario that I could see saving Woodson with the way things look for the roster as of now with the expected departures. PG 1. transfer with proven experience 2. Cupps CG 3. Newton Wing 4. Galloway 5. McNeeley 6. transfer with proven experience 7. transfer with proven experience 8. high upside transfer/late freshman addition Bigs 9. Reneau 10. Queen 11. Sparks 12. transfer post with length 13. transfer 4 man that can stretch the floor
  16. I think I've figured out what Woodson is doing. This is just my best guess but I could see him waiting to watch some of the 2025 guys in either the IHSAA tournament or in the recruiting cycle's this spring/summer when he knows approximately how many 2025 guys he will need. He knows he needs to win so he's going to hit the portal hard to get proven/talented players from the portal. That's his only shot at getting this turned around next year. Guys like McNeeley and Queen (if he commits to IU) will help but they won't be enough and proven talent is what can make things change quickly. I don't know if he can pull it off but time will tell. Matta seems to have somewhat done it at Butler so we'll see if Woodson can change things via the portal at IU in 1 offseason.
  17. All that he's saying is that Woodson put him in pick and rolls. That's the only part of the offense that is NBA centric. He also does have some aspects of his defense that does translate to the NBA but it doesn't work in college as we can see by the on court production. Constant ball watching and overhelping doesn't work in college.
  18. The only players that you can truly say have gotten better under Woodson have been bigs. Ware is just playing harder. He's always been talented and Woodson plays him while Altman didn't. Reneau has gotten better however I believe a lot of that has to do with him getting in better physical shape and a higher usage rate. As for TJD sure he got better at handling the ball and passing out of double teams. A lot of that is just a coach putting you in a position to do those things.
  19. When I look at the options for the next coach I’m looking at how they run their offense and what people think of them and not just prior success. To many people get infatuated with big names without looking at what they actually do with X’s and O’s.
  20. If a true coaching search was done I think they’d find someone that wants a new challenge.
  21. Ok so I’m going to address 2 things here the first is that Woodson didn’t develop JHS until he had to. He didn’t maximize his potential until after X got hurt because he was playing off the ball a lot. As for TJD his overall skill set didn’t really develop. He was just put in situations to succeed at a higher level under Woodson. The second is that people claiming coaches would be scared of taking the IU job are just wrong. Most coaches think they can be the one to fix a situation. Was Saban scared to take the Alabama job because they weren’t what they were under Bear Bryant and had gone through several head coaches since? Absolutely not and look what happened. I actually think there are some parallels to Alabama pre Saban and IU currently. The right coach can change everything.
  22. The situation with Fife and Matta was a red flag. Fife govt fired however Matta left to be a HC at Butler and Woodson technically wasn’t his boss. That said Woodson didn’t listen to his suggestions because he wanted to do things “his” way. Which as a coach I get but “his” way hasn’t worked
  23. The only way that Woodson isn’t the coach is if he decides he can’t do the job and retires. I don’t see that happening but you never know. I also didn’t see things going this far off the rails but here we are. Also Fisch speaking out about he culture of the program isn’t a good look at all for Woodson because his words carry serious weight around the Indiana program.
