True. I'm fine with this outcome. IU needs to focus next years roster on building around perimeter players and Reneau. Not Reneau and another 5* big that needs the ball. I do like Queens game and think he would've been a nice get but IU needs to focus elsewhere imo.

He was streaky and was more of an athlete in HS than a knock down shooter. He was also a volume shooter and he's not that at IU. IU has landed more guys that projected as shooters rather than actual shooters.

The consistent problem is a lack of recruiting true shooters. Prior to McNeeley IU hasn't landed a guy that was a true shooter with a legitimate track record as a shooter since Kopp. Prior to him it was all the way back to when Crean was the Coach.

The reason IU can't shoot is because IU has refused to recruit shooters. IT'S NOT BECAUSE OF THE LIFTING PROGRAM!

As someone who watched nearly all of his games at Butler I’m a fan of Holtmann. Things got stale at OSU but he is a good coach. Not saying I want him at IU now but he is a better college basketball coach than Woodson is right now.

They need 1-2 more bigs for next season just for roster construction reasons

I’m worried more about scoring and hitting shots than the defense. I believe another year can improve some of that stuff with MM can improve but we will see. I’m not sure how things will play out and Maybe Reneau is willing to play more 5 next year. I really just don’t know what will happen.

Here is what I see happening. I still think Woodson is back. He goes to the portal and end up with a roster that looks like this. Transfer PG, Transfer SG/CG, Transfer Big/Queen, 2 Transfer bench G/W’s, Transfer big, Cupps, Galloway, Newton, MM, McNeeley, Reneau, and Sparks.

That’s actually not true. MM projects to be really good next year regardless of if he is at the 3 or 4. He’s one of the best FR in the B1G. That said the team would likely be better if he’s at the 4. The problem with that is Reneau. Not MM. Reneau wants to be the 4 last I heard.

People don’t have to gauge things with Banks and Gunn. They’re almost certainly leaving. Reneau is who was being reached out to but I don’t think things went too far. It’s sounding like MM could be back. I still believe Galloway is back as well.

There was a rumor of teams reaching out to people around a notable player at IU. That said it wasn’t the player being talked about on BTB and it definitely didn’t involve Purdue. Purdue only has one open scholarship for next year right now and they’re being very selective with a large class already coming in.
