Buckner and the Simons said Woodson deserved another year. They are loading up the NIL funds and making sure Woodson can get players in the portal. Time will tell whether or not that is successful.

That's what's going on. Simons and Buckner weren't on board with a change so Woodson is back with a lot of NIL money. Basically IU is planning on buying a team in the portal. So we'll see what happens. What could go wrong?

There are people that believe Woodson and Buckner plan on riding off into retirement together after next year and his approach to recruiting by living a dying with the portal tends to go along with that possibility.

For someone that just got told they were coming back for another year Woodson was very standoffish last night towards the media in his post game presser. That seemed a little odd to me for someone that has had so much confidence in the job that they are doing. Something about this whole situation still just seems weird to me.

My concern with IU having to build an entire roster through transfers is that I'm not sure they'll have enough NIL money to land enough key pieces. The transfers are going to command a lot more than the high school recruits but Woodson is solely focused on using the portal to build next years roster.

Also next Tuesday will be a big day for IU basketball. It has been said that there’s a meeting taking place with all the big decision makers.

I’m not buying that Pearl isn’t the guy. He’s Dolson’s top target I don’t think that’s changing. When Dolson locks in on someone he makes them say no before he moves on and that’s what will happen this time.

I've heard it'll be him or May. I'm not sure if the stuff about Pearl is 100% accurate. It could be a smokescreen at this point.
