I'm not sure. He might be leaning IU if Ballo doesn't or he might be fine with the bench role. I'm not real sure but they seem to have made a good impression.

I don't think he's said that either. I believe it's all being driven by the agent to see if any new offers come in while he's on the IU visit.

I'd put Ballo at 90% chance of committing to IU at this point. His agent is telling people he's done but Ballo is saying he's not. Some think his agent is playing this to see if anyone ups their offer but I don't think that's going to happen.

There seems to be some smoke around Payne right now too which is kind of odd to me.

I don't know. I don't make those decisions. I will say that although he played well we really don't know how Conwell would do playing in a major conference for an entire season. I believe he would translate just fine but nobody has seen it yet.

I don’t think Ole Miss is a serious contender. The set the market and that was probably higher than some of those other schools and IU really wants him so they just went ahead and jumped everyone and got the first visit.

I truly believe if his kids were older when IU offered him the last time he would be the IU head coach right now. I think he’s getting the itch to coach again, he wants to win an NCAA championship, and he probably thinks his role of running an NBA franchise better sets him up for the NIL landscape. That said he likely wants to win a championship with Boston first. Regardless of what he said before Stevens has always wanted the Indiana job.
