  2. Was that Heratio Sanz on the cowbell? I know I’m not the only one that thought that.
  3. Both teams have had terrific season. It’s easy to want to lean to familiarity when predicting a winner but I bet no one picked these two playing in the final four. FAU is playing really smart basketball. They have as a good a chance as anyone at this point. Next game should be a fun one to watch as well and I couldn’t pick the winner.
  4. With the way the transfer portal can quickly swing things, I’m not much interested in players that need a whole lot of development. Guys can transfer in and quickly make an impact. I didn’t like the transfer portal rules at first but it’s grown on me. It’s an easy quick way to reboot a broken squad or just fill a gap to stay elite between recruiting cycles. But at the same time it can be barbarous.
  5. Yep, I hear ya there. My position is I don’t think our roster is anywhere near good enough to turn down such talent. Bring him on. This could turn out to be the gritty roster that we need.
  6. Yep and I’m loving it. This kid can ball out. Great on both ends of the floor. Sometimes you can just watch how a player shoots the ball, the arch, speed and how the ball drops and tell they have a really good form and consistent stroke, this kid is one of them.
  7. About Jalen? Nah. He’s just wishful thinking I’m sure. Don’t believe that until it happens. If I told you names of the group that hang out at the Tap & Upland pretty regular you would like to believe what they say but they cut up, prank and goof off so much you just honestly never know. I think Jalen goes first round. I’ve seen him projected as high as 13th earlier around maybe February. Recently he has fallen a bit to around 17th. It sure would mean a whole lot to us fans and the program if he were to return. I could only imagine. But, as a kid, going pro and collecting 9 million by your 21st birthday sounds like a great plan. I don’t blame him one bit. Him returning though, man that could be a season trajectory changer. Trace has one more year of eligibility as well. They could come together like Miami players did and set the goal to go deeper into March next season but thats also a IU fan pipe dream.
  8. Starting the off-season thread with a few thoughts from ol’Fisch. Don is one of my favorites around IU sports. He is much older than myself and has seen more IUBB up close and personal so when he shares his thoughts I listen. Let’s start off with sharing our position going into the offseason knowing Trace and likey Jalen are gone. Although I had a buddy show up yesterday that claims he was told Jalen is returning, I just don’t see it happening. Duncomb is in the portal and likely to lose a couple to a few more. Probably Geronimo and maybe even Bates transferring. I actually thought we might hear something about Banks looking elsewhere as well. Maybe not. What are your expectations for the next season? How do we stack up in the B1G next season without our all American big TJD and NBA lottery pick guard JHS? With kind of an unassembled puzzle of a remaining roster, what pieces should we be looking for. Some of your answers to these questions are floating about in various threads. It would be nice to have one thread as the hang out and chat all things related to IUBB off season as we move into and through the summer and fall seasons.
  9. @BGleas yeah I’m just saying I don’t think Bates issue is the offensive scheme. Reps and flow help and I understand that but even being extremely high on the guy myself I think he is about as prime as he’s gonna get. Unless he is forced into a role where he has to shoot the ball a whole lot more I don’t see him contributing more than what he normally does. Sorry for long paragraphs. I’m cooking this kid some breakfast.
  10. When a kid showed up with the ability to score the ball, other than Trace, he did what no one on the bench has been able to do. Trace is such a great team player that if anyone else can score the ball he will do what he can to assist. The offense was circled around Trace because for the most part, he was the only consistent choice. I don’t see the ability to run a free flowing offense with IUs roster of non shooter and non creators. I’d love to be hopeful but realistically I don’t see it.
  11. I agree. Although, as long as we can shoot the ball. Like you kind of alluded, Trace covered that deficit and much more for us for 4 years.
  12. I’ve been saying since Jalen and Malik showed up that they easily stood out talent wise to the point that the difference in the current players vs them was very clear.
  13. This years deep FAU run and the IU/RMK ties gives me the - is Dusty May the next modern day Brad Stevens - vibe. I can see vacant high profile programs taking interest. They are having an amazing season at 34-3 and headed to E8
  14. Yeah I had no idea he was from Gary. He’s smooth and plays with poise. I see why Dusty wanted him.
