  1. COMPLETELY agree with this. I respect what he did to get us back to a competitive level the right way. He just wasn't the guy to get us where we ultimately want to be.
  2. i feel bad for you guys when you get your hopes up. must be a real emotional roller coaster!
  3. i was happy to see Crean go, but i can't get to where i am happy to see him fail.
  4. i know experts aren't always right, but our fan base definitely thought we'd be better than the analysts did. i just hoped we'd finish higher in the B1G, be in the top 25 and me the tourney.
  5. don't look now, but Rutgers winning by 11 over Illinois doesn't exactly make me feel better about beating Rutgers.
  6. trust me. it is very tough being a Cubs fan and an IU bball fan.
  7. i will take this opportunity to admit how wrong i was. it took me quite a while to give up on Miller. i am nowhere near that with Woodson.
  8. so i was devastated when Woodson was hired. then when i saw the staff assembled, recruits, transfers, guys staying, and all the excitement around, i was greatly encouraged. while i have been very skeptical from the start, i don't see declaring he wasn't the answer or that he isn't getting the job done after less than a season. at the same time, college basketball is kind of built so that you can turn things around quickly with recruiting and the transfer portal. hard to have as much patience these days. also, i know many disagree, but would we really have won less games with Miller coaching this season? i guess maybe? i still say our pre conference record would have been the same. either way, i also don't understand the concept of ever stopping watching games or stop cheering for wins!
  9. definitely bummed about last night, but unlike many, not surprised. i like this team more than most in the recent past. i do feel like we have positives to be happy about improvement, but we are an average team. really hoping to finish 6th or 7th, but getting nervous that we settle in as 9th or hopefully at least 8th in the B1G. unfortunately when i thought we'd win 3-4 out of our last 9, i was probably right. it's always nice to be wrong when you are generally pessimistic, but... we just have to remember not to get too high with 1 win or too low with 1 loss. i personally don't like the sub patterns/minutes distribution. i do think X is our only legit option at PG, but 3-16 (1-6 from 3) and 5 TO's is about all you need to know about why we struggled last night. bad calls? sure. were they out to get us? no. what would the theory be on that? Wisconsin bribed the officials? all officials hate IU? unfortunately we will hit 5 losses in a row after Monday. i just hope we haven't lost so much momentum/confidence that we miss out on wins home vs. MD and @ MN.
  10. point is, people complain about the officials every single game. okay. i get it. if you are a fan of any other team and hear fans complaining about officiating you think they are whining. they are crazy. then we do the same? the officials are not out to get us at Assembly Hall tonight. are they bad? probably. out to get us? no.
  11. everyone complaining about officials again? yes. most of them are terrible. maybe focus on something else?
  12. i personally like the idea of who earns it each day whether in practice or game. Trey deserved to start last game. based on the last game, he doesn't deserve to start this game, but how was practice this week? also how was Stewart's attitude? etc, etc.
  13. agreed for sure. people were quick to get excited about him last year, then when we and everyone else learned he couldn't shoot, we saw his time go down and his effectiveness as well. we are all excited about him again, but he still can't shoot.
  14. ESPN gives us a 60% chance to win the Wisconsin game right now. That does make me feel better. I agree that if we win this one, we'll get in and have a good chance to finish 6th or 7th in conference. On the flip side, it seems hard to be confident about winning Tues even with it being at home. If we do lose it, we would be at a 4 game losing streak heading into the game at OSU. If we get to a 5 game losing streak, how is our confidence/mentality going into the home stretch knowing we still have @ Purdue, home against a surging Rutgers team, and playing at a tough venue in MN? Iowa has 3 more "should wins" left. Michigan has a rough road ahead. Rutgers has a rough road ahead. OSU has a favorable schedule. So, yeah, Tuesday just seems huge to me.
  15. i'll try to take the optimistic angle this morning... in my best Cubs fan mentality... wait til next year. i could still see Bates being very good. JHS should come in about as ready as any top freshman. Galloway and Geronimo another year experienced. maybe Durr will be better? hopefully Race is back. feel pretty confident Woodson can get help from the transfer portal. if X is back as well?
  16. Stewart is seriously 1-6 from the line
  17. man, i hope we get in. an 8th place finish scares me a little.
  18. i just really didn't expect to win this one. still hoping we win 3 more.
  19. definitely understand. i have seen him play in person, but it's hard to tell how they will adjust to the next level.
