When I heard the news yesterday, it didn't hit me as hard as I would have thought because I knew he had been in such a bad state of living. It was his time. That said, I have coached basketball for over 30 years and will always look at him as my greatest influence. No, I don't act like he acted and I don't use his language, but he was definitely a part of why I fell in love with the game at a very young age. So many people don't realize how much good he did for his players, friends, and IU other than bball. He definitely taught me loyalty, dedication, discipline, competing, preparation, following the rules, and supporting "your people" and having their back. My mom passed away when I was 14 years old, but I'll always cherish memories of her leaving the room in close games because she couldn't take it. So so glad he came back and made amends with IU. Ah, the good ol days. RIP Coach Knight. Sure wish they could bury you upside down!

I mean, I was trying to search for positives, but bottom line is we do have talent. We do have length. We do have pretty good depth. Most of the offensive woes were missing shots that we absolutely need to make. So if you're getting good shots, you have to think we'll start converting those, right?

my mind is so jumbled. i do like Cupps and Gunn though. i just don't think either will start this season.

i'm easily confused, but this has me very confused. i don't get the 1.1 and the 2.5? and i mentioned Gunn not Cupps.

i get you, but i think about the only debate would be Gunn over Galloway and i doubt that.

this performance definitely can't help our confidence as a fan base, but man we have a lot of talent. Galloway has got to be better and you have to think he will be. Gunn was encouraging, so that kinda cancels out. Mbako and Ware are exciting to think about. they didn't look great early, but so much potential! Sparks and Walker off the bench are huge. Cupps is gonna be a HOOSIER. XJ and Reneau need to give us what we expect. already excited for the next exhibition.

sure. this is a message board meant for opinions and debating though right? i'd just love to keep politics and race out of it. we can all debate what we think should be done. why does it need to become racial and political? there is a dangerous group on here who gang up and chase off everyone who disagrees with him. that sucks. whatever though. i won't engage with that crew.

if you're being honest, we really looked bad today. that said, we have a lot to be optimistic about. if we just make easy shots early, this game is a blowout. we are long and athletic. not what i am used to saying about IU.
