  1. i like this. great picture too.
  2. i agree and don't really want him to, but i guess some could argue starting walker at the 4 and/or Gunn at the 3. i'd be willing to bet it won't happen and like i said, pretty much don't think it should. i just miss the old days (not necessarily IU) when it was okay to have maybe your best 3 or 4 players as pretty much guaranteed starters, but that 4th or 5th starter could change depending on practice and game performance. keeps everyone competitive. our HS boys coach has done that some this year and is getting the most out of what we have. has our boys ranked 3rd in the state when we clearly aren't the 3rd most talented team.
  3. agreed. i hate losing, but i was actually okay with watching those games.
  4. so i don't think i have seen it discussed on here, but saw people on twitter asking about a lineup change for tonight. i generally like the idea of being willing to change the lineup when someone looks better than a current starter, but i still want to see Mtaco. i assume that would be the only question? i guess the fact that we looked better with only one of Reneau or Ware in at the same time? we know neither of them are going to the bench though. anyway... thoughts?
  5. i hope you reported her. we have a lot of fun in my classes. sometimes i think i am one of the biggest behavior problems in the class.
  6. this does not sound like a sunshine pumper to me! i just look forward to watching IU bball no matter what. i always watch all games even in that 6 win season.
  7. we always laugh somewhat inappropriately when we say/discuss banal. not because it means anything like what it sounds, but that it sounds inappropriate for school. we're a little like Beavis and Butthead at times. same as when we have to do to our after school "duty."
  8. i am a special ed teacher who mainly co-teaches math classes, but once a year i co-teach and English class with a tremendous teacher. that always gives me a chance to expand my vocab a little and/or remember words i already knew, but forgot.
  9. i agree and will go another step - i like that Woodson pulled Mtaco every time he made a bonehead play. i also wonder if CJ can put on some weight and muscle and be closer to the traditional 3 that we are missing? now - of course to finish on a negative note - let's see if that was 1 game for Gunn or a turning of the corner. road game tonight will likely bring out all of the uglies.
  10. i love how smart it makes you guys sound
  11. love pedantic. very appropriate here as well.
  12. i think what i have learned is that you should focus on the good right now. mention the bad when we lose at Rutgers.
  13. man i sure hope not. that would be a terrible strategy.
  14. i definitely get what you're saying, but i'm not miserable after losses. i'm not as happy for a little bit. i'm sometimes not in as good of a mood for a few hours, but i'm fine. just because i'm not often optimistic about my team doesn't mean i'm not happy when they win or that i'm miserable when they lose. i do hate losing though!
  15. hey Scott! not often. i am pretty guarded in my expectations of sports. that said, i can be optimistic. i just think it's a little blind or short sighted... this team has a lot of talent and potential. on a given night we have seen that we can get scoring from all 5 starters. it is big to have X back and he could be a very good B1G PG in his 6th year. our depth is looking a little better with Gunn, Banks, and Walker playing pretty well. the B1G isn't as good this year, so we should have a better chance of winning games. we are generally tough at home. we only play Illinois once this year. i'm excited about McNeeley next year. there. is that better?
  16. oh, i was agreeing with you though. i voted Malik. he was the MVP. it was good to see X and Gunn play well though!
  17. man i hate those commercials. they are really weird.
  18. undoubtedly. i'm not good at that. i think it has to do with how much i hate losing. as a coach, i regret that i didn't bask in the glory of some of our big wins more, but instead i started looking immediately to what we needed to do tomorrow to get better and be prepared for the next opponent. it does take some of the enjoyment out of it for sure, and as a fan, i really don't need to be that way, but it's me! i guess i look at it this way... i get my opinion about where we are and don't get swayed to high by one win and don't get sunk too low after one loss. many on here get super low after one loss, then super high after one win. to each their own. i am happy about the win last night BTW! just remember the comments from many on here today and then those same people's comments after Tues night!
  19. so...definitely happy with the win. really doesn't change anything i've been thinking though. really like the talent on this team and it's potential. yes, we are definitely only gonna hit our ceiling if X plays smart and well. huge to see Gunn play well. like that Woodson wasn't afraid to sit Mtaco and Ware when things were going well. also like that the conference isn't great this year. here's where i hope i'm wrong - still don't think we should be super excited over barely beating an unranked team that may be the 5th or 6th best in the conference at home. this is actually a game i was counting on winning when i said i thought we'd go around 10-10 in conference and end up on the bubble going into BTT. now if we pull off Tues, i'll be excited!
