love the offensive start!

yeah, i mean it would be awesome if we won tonight, finished on a tear, made the tourney, and won a couple rounds. then Ware, Mtaco, Reneau stay, Liam comes in and meets all of our expectations, and we get a couple really solid guard transfers. if we do all of that and Woodson is the guy to lead us to where we want to be... that would be incredible! in the real world, i can't imagine much of that at all. i will start cheering for it tonight though!

i feel like the bringing in all the new faces thing is common in college bball, right? it is definitely a challenge to get them to mesh quickly as you will only have some of them for a year or two. i mean we did have XJ, Galloway, and Reneau returning. then we brought in a 5 star recruit and a former 5 star recruit. i think what he's referring to is shooting in general. or overall guard play? 15-18 wins is just not good enough for Indiana. not making the tourney is not good enough. and then the question - what gives us hope that next season will be better?

oh, and i am 50 years old.

being in bball purgatory sucks, but if we are here for 3-5 more years...ugh. i am hopeful next year will be the limit.

man, i was just assuming he was okay. let's hope so. assume X is out? i'd like Ware, Reneau, Mtaco, Galloway, and Leal personally. i honestly can't decide whether i would take the points in this one or not. on one hand i can easily see us lose by 17.5 +. on the other hand, i could see us keep it competitive.

i really don't want to blame the officials. we gotta come to play in our rivalry game. if the calls are killing us, Woodson needs to get their attention. fight for your guys. i'm bummed that we have 3 pages for a Purdouche pre game thread and none of my favorite pictures about crashing trains, fat cheerleaders, etc.

that's the key here. take a 62 year old guy who had never coached at the college level and it's a huge adjustment. just a different game, different responsibilities, etc, etc. big difference in a guy who is 65 + and has made a career of coaching in college and a guy just trying to make the switch.

seriously though, i don't bet and often don't look at the line. i'm guessing that kind of spread against us is pretty rare?

anyone know the last time we were 17.5 point underdogs against anyone?

i hate the SMELLERMAKERS more than anyone. gonna kill me to see them put a beatdown on us. wouldn't miss seeing IU vs Purdue for anything though.

i feel like MR gets beat up and disrespected in this voting often, but i went with Galloway

i mean i'd love to be wrong and have Woodson be the guy who leads us back to glory, but it is gonna suck if he does just well enough to keep us about where we are but not bad enough to make him want to retire.

this thread can get some much needed rest until around 10pm Sat.

i had to watch the game when i got home from my son's game. luckily we made it home in time to rewind and watch last night. as you can imagine with my not so optimistic takes, i was disgusted for most of the game. i never stop watching though and am glad i didn't! that said, i am obviously happy about the win. i definitely thought it would be another road loss. that said, we beat one of the worst teams in the conference who had lost 7 of their last 8 in a big comeback victory by 3. while i am happy today, let's not get carried away and say all is good, we are going to make the tourney, Woodson is a great coach, etc. it is what it is. the loss Sat will hurt my soul, but if by chance we could win the next two at home and then get revenge at PSU... then i will be much more impressed and maybe even a tad optimistic!

careful with the terminology. XJ could be lurking.

i like your optimism. comes out in a lot of people after a win, but we're still gonna be underdogs in literally everyone of those games. i'll still be surprised if we win more than 2.
