  1. i would just like to see some fire from Woodson. he doesn't have to act like a mad man or throw a fit, but give me something. show some signs of fight!
  2. forgot about Shrews. would also take him over Woodson... Beard...Oates...Pearl...Shrews...May
  3. i would be elated with any of those 3. i'd be happy with May.
  4. i like to hear this and i'm not doubting, but asking... what style does he coach. i don't plan to start watching FAU games. uptempo? 3 point friendly i assume? anything special on D?
  5. this is what's tricky. people keep saying stars don't matter, but how much confidence do we have that Woodson and staff could pick under the radar guys and have more success than we are now with higher rated guys? as far as Mtaco, no i don't think the one incident makes him a bad kid, but i do question how Woodson handled it. admittedly i do not know, but if he hasn't been sufficiently handling situations like that, the Windy City 5, Mario Andretti, the mad nut grabber, etc. it can create a culture where lack of discipline leaks onto the court as well.
  6. what makes it a safer hire? i mean that sincerely because if i'm being honest, i was pretty excited about Archie. i don't really see why we would have known he wouldn't work out. i like the idea of May as well. i'm just asking you and others to make me feel better if he is the successor. what's the difference going in?
  7. so...i'd reluctantly take May over Woodson next year, but seems like we'd be running the risk of another Archie Miller. i get that Beard and Pearl don't seem to fit the squeaky clean preference of our admin, but i'm holding out hope i guess. if not one of them, is there no realistic candidate that has been a proven winner for a power 5 program? pretty important that the next hire is the right guy. back to the other topic - does it seem very likely that if we end 16-16 that Woodson will be frustrated enough and hearing enough from the fans that he'd really consider retiring? you're getting my hopes up. i'm assuming he'll give it one more year and it will be miserable and then he'll be done?
  8. yeah. i guess i am not ready to give him that much credit. have most improved at least some? i think so. i hope so. am i saying he has had absolutely no part in that? of course not. still not convinced he did much for JHS. X's injury did more for JHS than anything. TJD got better every year, but never developed any range. he was about what i would have expected his final season. Galloway has gotten more minutes and a bigger leash the last two seasons. Reneau looked like he could have pretty much done what he is doing last year if he had the same minutes and no TJD in front of him.
  9. yeah. i get that. i just don't look at it like that. i feel like people who don't vote because of a loss are kind of like pouting. i like to stay consistent when things are going bad or things are going good. i get the other side's viewpoint though.
  10. yeah. in hindsight i probably should have voted Galloway. might have been Ware had he not sat so long?
  11. i would hope all payers improve at least a little every year under any coach.
  12. so i totally believe that Woodson will not be fired after this season. my question is - if we got 16-15 and then lose in the first round of BTT to end 16-16 is there any chance that he is frustrated enough to step down? coupled with all the grumblings?
  13. ^^^ So what is the difference? Would Woodson do a better job if he had less talent? I really don't think so.
  14. i don't even understand. who is that dude? and does he mean if none of the fans care that our program will find glory?
  15. i mean i'd love to believe that, but i don't.
  16. it's possible i guess. maybe we should all just believe and only post in the no negatives thread? if we just post encouraging things to the players and coaches and not think bad thoughts it could be the difference?
  17. i know i generally take the pessimistic stance, but being realistic, it seems a foregone conclusion that Ware will be gone. again, this part is just my opinion, but i have this feeling that if Mtaco can't justify going into the draft that he will decide it was the fault of the coaching/system he was in and transfer. i hope not, but for some reason it just seems likely that he is gone. so we start with Reneau, Galloway (maybe) and McNeeley (assuming this trainwreck doesn't scare him off). we'd need two stud transfer portal guards and would still have the problem of not having a 4. so two stud guards and a solid 4 in the portal? and we'd have to get them to mesh quickly. i'm just not liking the odds. i mean if Mtaco stays and agrees to play the 4 with Reneau at the 5 and Liam at the 3? okay, i like that. we'd still need at minimum a stud PG transfer and then for them to mesh quickly.
  18. and with the portal and NIL this is just never acceptable at IU. just should never be this bad. and again, this isn't year 1. it's year 3.
  19. i like this question. i'm not even talking about IU here...i've been saying the same thing about HS coaches. my son's team is blowing out everyone in their conference. i keep saying i don't know why the second time around these coaches don't try something creative. they know they can't beat us straight up M vs M. try a zone? play a junk D since we have two really good scorers? speed it up? slow it down? doesn't seem like colleges do this in general and i guess HS doesn't do it much either. i would. granted most of my experience is HS girls and they are more limited and easier to gameplan against, but i still say why not?
