it is crazy. what gets me is how many losses even the teams ranked in the top 10 have these days. i think most of us agree that that isn't the only issue with IU bball. it's the product we see. also teams like ISU, Auburn, etc didn't used to be mentioned in the same sentence as IU bball. while they may be sputtering a little right now, they are tournament bound and we are not.

i actually hope you're right. that's my point on here a lot of times. we are all entitled to our opinion, but it cracks me up with the crowd who after a home win vs an average team gets convinced all will be fine, then the same people lose their minds when we lose the next game. i really hope we win today, but doesn't mean a whole lot either way. unfortunately a loss at home to NW means more than a win would in my opinion.

i can totally imagine the bind that Woodson is in with Mtaco. you sell a kid on the idea that he is an NBA 3 and he'll be starting at the 3 for you. i don't have a problem with that. the tough thing is are you good enough to then sell him on the fact that it will help the team win if he moves to the 4 and that it will also make him look better because his current role isn't doing that? can you sell him that although he will technically be a 4, you will help him develop the skills to be an NBA 3? i hope so. i agree that a very good transfer PG, Galloway, McNeeley, Mtaco, and Reneau could be solid next year. thing is... as others mentioned... there is also a problem with Reneau. can Woodson convince him to play the 5? All of that is the head coach's responsibility and i don't see it happening.

again, i cannot imagine he gets fired after this season. it would only be if he's ready to hang it up after a horrible ending to a very disappointing season. it just sucks that we have to wait another year just because he "deserves another year." we'll endure it and then we'll make a change. just prolongs getting the right guy.

one more year helped TJD develop. i'm sure Woodson is part of that. JHS was very highly touted. Woodson was using him poorly until he was forced to put him at PG after X's injury.

i'd like to propose, "Please do what's best for Indiana University and retire Coach Woodson."

to be honest, i was actually surprised at how bad X was at the beginning of the season before the injury and just a little surprised at how bad he was after the injury. from a talent perspective he is better than any other guard we have, but it's just not working.

right? making the NCAA tourney should not be something we are super excited about. it should be an expectation. that is not unrealistic.

sure did. almost makes me jealous. they aren't waiting another year. now they can go after one of those coaches that i wish we would get.

really really hate waiting this long for a game. desperately need baseball season to begin.

i love IU bball and always will. look forward to every single game. i just don't like where the program is. calling last year a huge success just doesn't seem right to me. i do think we can have higher expectations and i find it really hard to see why anyone would think Woodson is the guy to get us over the hump (see what i did there?). i mean, i know he'll be back next year unless he gets frustrated enough to retire, but we are just sitting here waiting for that day and hoping the next guy is the right guy. in the meantime, we'll get some solid players here and there, but have no fire or consistency. no toughness. no discipline. we'll hope to make the tourney each year. hope to win a game in the tourney, then repeat. this year is just unacceptable and there's a tremendous chance next year won't be any better. that said, i'll still be watching and hoping i'm wrong!

Ware and Mtaco will not be in IU uniforms next season.
