Its been an enjoyable year and we'll still be in the dance but we are a team that gets soundly defeated at home by the number 18 team in the country. THE LOSS that gives us our identity. The truth serum, the litmus test.  Underwood didn't beat Woodson. Their best player was able to impose his will on ours then the caveats that come from that were daggers. In an open gym pick-up setting they would've destroyed us. 

Right now we could be  8-4 behind three teams tied at 9-3 with wins against 2 of them. We would be ranked in the top 20. The narrative nationally would be different and we would be talking about how  we could still win the conference. Instead we are hoping not to fall apart or limp into the conference tournament. It was a huge loss.

Like to poke the bear a little BGleas.  Old friend a diehard Celts fan from Boston area.  Sadly he passed on a few years ago, and you are the only Celts fans I know I can poke a little!

It's not as simple as to just say that the Celtics have a high bar. Brad Stevens never once had a championship roster as coach of the Celtics. 

Stevens went to what? Four Eastern Conference Finals as the Celtics coach? He took a team led by Isiah Thomas to the ECF and he took LeBron 7 games with a team led by a rookie Jayson Tatum (both Kyrie and Hayward were injured).

I don't see his tenure as the Celtics coach as anything other then a success. 

A success for any other franchise except the Lakers.  Yes, he's a good coach, but he was hired to win the crown.

No doubt taking Butler to the final game 2x a great achievement, but his trip to the pros had taken a lot off of that.

Granted with the Celts you have a high bar -- i.e., win an NBA championship, but so far he's fallen short both as  a coach and GM.  Still time though.

Going back through and including 17-18 Stewart and Kopp much better top duo.  They are shooting 45% and 39% which is much better than any other of the top 2 volume shooters for the year by far.  Closest is Green and Durham in 19-20 with 36% and 38%. 

Me, too.  Good 1st half, but Illini made us look like little boys in 2d half.  Our offense didn't produce enough good shots.

Just got dominated.
